XLR8 1st Gear December 11, 2006 Share December 11, 2006 You should go to a shop that have side slip tester - you need to pay only maybe 30% of what you pay to guys using high powered machine .You are acutally helping him to pay his machine installments and he is learning at yr expenses You got a point. Anyway my frens car is alright now. So prob bear that in mind. As for myself, been to a couple of alignment shops over the recent years. To be frank, some shops "Pian Jiak" one. Anyhow do, alignment like f**k, eg. car go straight, steering wheel one sided. ↡ Advertisement

Yeobh 4th Gear December 11, 2006 Share December 11, 2006 When adjusting toe angle on wheel alignment mcahine, it's a good practice to lock the steering wheel in 12 o'clock position with a steering locking device.

Ixat 1st Gear December 13, 2006 Share December 13, 2006 Yeo could this toe thingy bee the reason my car pulls right even though alignment is within spec? Steering was locked when alignment was done. After testing realise steering was not straight though car was going straight. Went back and the toe was adjusted. After that when steering points straight it is actually steering right.Probably over adjusted. Now dunno is car pull right or steering pointing wrongly or road not flat... Confused.... Silver_blade Turbocharged December 13, 2006 Share December 13, 2006 I think the alignment wasn't done correctly. They probably didn't make sure the steering wheel was pointing straight before aligning the wheels.
Chewcb Neutral Newbie December 30, 2006 Share December 30, 2006 hi bro can share the shop add/name that rectified your alignment problem? i would like to give other shop a try...... many thanks.
Yeobh 4th Gear December 30, 2006 Share December 30, 2006 The wheel alignment angles and setting maybe all correct but due to uneven wear and tear of the steering linkages, tyres and wheel bearings , sometime it's necessary to do minor adjustment of toe angle to take care of the tyre pulling to one side. Go for a side slip test, from here the mechanics should be able to know which toe angle need to be adjusted

John1498 Neutral Newbie January 6, 2007 Share January 6, 2007 Hi bro, Sorry to ask stupid question. Why do we need wheel alignment? When do I know that it is time to go for wheel alignment?
Nutty 4th Gear January 6, 2007 Share January 6, 2007 Proper alignment is necessary for even treadwear and precise steering. Uneven front- or rear-tyre wear, or changes in your vehicle's handling or steering response indicate misalignment.
Fatfat Neutral Newbie January 7, 2007 Share January 7, 2007 I did mine at AMK autopoint 1st floor ( first shop, huge MAXXIS posters ) Costs 60, ( bargained till 60 ) Hunter Alignment systems - supposed to be better in the market. Kenny from 4th floor is overrated, i hate the long bookings. But he has been kind to me so far. Speaks good english, bet many did not know that. Yeobh 4th Gear January 7, 2007 Share January 7, 2007 Camber, Castor, Wheel on turn angle, KPI, toe angle, all these are name to descript the wheel settings - which will make driving requiring very little efforts, so that car can travel in a straight ahead trun corner without overturning and braking at high speed the car will not swing into the road side. Click here http://www.ariestools.com.sg/Auto%20Link.htm and search under the heading "Wheel Alignement" and you will be able to get the full write up on wheel alignement ↡ Advertisement
