ABS, is this a necessity?

For my case, i'll activate it maybe once in every two weeks..

 

Sometime unintentional and sometime doing it on purpose..

No... no rio... .a city manual I-DSI without ABS, SRS. Not dont want.. it does not come with it. ....

In the Singapore context, its hard to put ABS to the test. But when you really ahve a chance to use it. You would be glad its there.

 

I would say ABS is more widely used in countries with wintery surfaces..

ABS is not a must have but when you need it, it MIGHT be too late to get it liao..

seems that there are different opinion on breaking distances which is my most concern... especially i once in a while travel to cameron and off bitumen road upnorth. Useful info for me. Tks bro.

well... me now tow gong gong... got to do some serious consideration. I like City (power)... but Latio comes with ABS and SRS.

Me just came back from TC. Booked Latio with ABS liao. TQ all bro and sis here for v.useful and v.good advice. Hv thought thru and better go with something that is not replacable... safety.

I hv heard of some car owners that says they hv nvr activated their ABS in their lifetime of driving b4. Some says its only for drivers who feels insecure in wet weathers. Some activated theirs once b4 and says after that hv to go for chks.... is this true?

 

So I am anticipating whether to just go 4 a car without ABS.

ABS saved my ass many a time especially when u slam the brakes to avoid colliding with the car in front when the weather is wet. on our usually wet roads , i would think of it as a boon most of the time.

Is yrs manual or auto?

 

 

Mine is manual. And it's really hard e-braking where I came to a complete stop almost immediately.

 

1st time, taxi exited slip road and just cut across my lane to get to the rightmost lane, right in my path.

2nd time, taxi swerved in from my right and stopped to pick up passenger.

3rd time, taxi and I were exiting a slip road. Taxi was a distance in front of me and traffic was clear when he was reaching the stop line. I turned my head right to check for oncoming traffic and there was a car turning in and approaching. Although I could make it if I chionged, I decided not to and as I turned back and prepared to brake, I saw the taxi stopped at the stop line right in front of me! For some reason he did not exit when the road was clear. This was the closest shave. Luckily I didn't panic and forget to jam on the brakes.
