I have heard b4 of doing more good deeds will help to gain more merits for the living and departed relatives. This will helps in your karma.

What you receive today is what you create in past life ..something like that.

And I know some chinese buddhists/taoists do hold some rituals known as " Kong Tek" for the departed relatives. Is this something similar to help them at netherland?

Kong Tek is something like help them accumulate Karma although they have passed on.. this karma can be "exchanged" for less sufferings..

another one done by Teochews is called "Siam Tng"..

Thanks for the info. I know my paternal relatives always hold "kong Tek" for relatives who had passed away.About every 2-3 years.

I'm curious how long do one need to wait for recarination if they are eligible?do one still need to pray for late relatives who had already passed away for more than 40=50 years? are we praying to a empty tablet / tombstone? confused.gif

u are praying to the soul.. not the body..

so even though reincarnation has occured.. the soul is in a new body.. tombstone is the place for the body only..

Qing Ming go Tombstone/Urn/Grave, Death Anniversary go Tablet.. this is what my family does..

erm.. by right the soul should be at the tablet or tomb..

well well.. u won't know whether the soul has reincarnated.. becos in buddhism from what i know.. Hell is 3 times slower than Earth time, Heaven is 7 times slower than Earth time..

Mr K's wife was working late in her office alone one night. She had informed her husband to pick her up at 10.30pm.It had become Mr K's usual routine to pick up his wife at her office around that time then they would go for late dinner together then home.

That night, Mr K was waiting at the office building lobby but it was already past 11pm yet still no sight of his wife.He tried calling her mobile phone but each time, someone would pick up the call but remain silent.Mr K started to worry and decide to go up her office.

When he reached her office, he noticed lights were all off.He then went down to seek the security's help. The security guard looked stunned and pale when he heard of what Mr K said.He insisted his wife is still in the office.

The security guard opened the office door and they went in to check. His wife was not there at all but he found her mobile phone on her work desk.It showed total 10 missed calls by him which were unanswered! Then who could answered the calls then???

He made a police report on his wife missing. But the weird thing was his wife came home two nights later, complaining she was very tired that she dozed off at her workdesk and had a long weird dream of a lady who brought her to a faraway place.Does that explain of her sudden disappearance? She said she found herself in the toilet cubicle at her office building when she woke up.She thought she dozed off when she went loo and so she headed home straight after she woke up.Yes, her handbag and mobile phone was with her!

look at this clip..isn't this the video of the green lady ghost in LCK?it looks fake to me..

Wanbao070322Pg2.jpg

translation:

A group of friends went to Lim Chu Kang to steal durians from a durian tree to eat one night when they saw a lady with only half a body "flying" towards them. One of them quickly whipped out his handphone camera and managed to take the a short video of the female ghost.

They went there at about 6pm in the evening when they encountered this female ghost near the durian tree. It was suspected to be someone dressed up as a female ghost to scare away anyone who trys to steal durians from this tree.

According to Mr Lim (50 years old), his friend managed to record the video which was about 38 seconds long. From the video, one can see the female ghost with black hair long covering the face, and her facial features could hardly be seen. The female ghost only reveals half of her body and wears a long green gown.

Mr Lim said: "At that time, my friends and I just finished the durians and were going home by car from Lim Chu Kang road. Just as the car passes by the trees, one of my friend noticed something strange from under one of the trees. In fact it looks like a lady with only half a body!"

As the car got nearer and nearer to the female ghost, the motionless ghost suddenly look up and flew towards the car, after which it disappeared into thin air!

One of their friends who managed to capture the female ghost footage, sent the video to Mr Lim through bluetooth. However, the more they thought about this scary encounter, the more they are afraid and even decided to delete the videos from their handphones as they do not wish to keep such things inside their phones.

According to the videographer, the female spirit was probably caused by the ray of lights reflected by the leaves on the trees. The newspaper reporter showed the video to a group of professional videographers and they came up with three possibilities of how the female ghost appeared.

1) It could be caused by the way how the computer put the pictures together in the video.

2) It could be caused by the sunlight, and somehow at that time there was probably a bunch of leaves on the trees that created the female ghost's head, which also somehow created the floating effect for the head. As for the long green gown the ghost wore, it was most likely caused by the surroundings of the trees and leaves.

3) The video was too pixelated thus misleading the people to think that that is a female ghost.

From the three possibilities they have given, and also the reflection of the sunlights, the possibility of creating this female ghost effect is very high.

Could it be someone who dressed up as a female ghost to scare away people who trys to steal the durian fruits from the tree?

Lim Chu Kang is a famous place for durian trees and is a very popular place for people to take away free durians home.

According to Ah po (46 years old), many people likes to take free durians home. There is always something interesting going on in the durian garden. There are many people who also try to think of ways to protect others from stealing the durians away from the trees. There will be a group of people who take turns to guard over the durian trees. Sometimes they will guard for up to 3 to 5 hours until daybreak.

Someone actually had an encounter with a ghost at night at Boon Lay while trying to steal durians. The next day, they went back to check out the place only to find out that it was just a piece of white cloth hanging over the tree branches. They believed the white cloth was placed by the people who guard the durian trees, and was a way to scare away the people from stealing the fruits.

Thus, they came to a conclusion that the female ghost the group of friends saw at Lim Chu Kang was probably a prank deliberately played by the people who guards the durian trees.

selling salt experiment (translated)

It is believed that if you want to do business with the spirits, go to the cemetery in the middle of the night and bring along packets of salt, then find a good spot to settle down and "open your stall" to the spirits.

After finding a good spot to settle down, you kneel down, bow your head down and lift your palms opened up in the air and wait for "customers" to come to you. No matter what happens, you are not to lift your head up at any time.

We arrived at the Chua Chu Kang Chinese cemetery at around 11pm. According to the Singapore Paranormal Investigators (SPI)'s feng shui master's calculation, the most "Yin" place lies at the cross/T junction where fresh new tombs are located.

Okay, we shall "open our stall" here and start our investigation! We arranged for one our crew member to kneel down with both palms lifted up in the air together and wait for "customers" to come to him to buy salt.

While he wait for "customers", me and my other crew members moved a couple of distances away to observe our friend from afar. We set up two video cameras to record the whole process.

However, we waited and waited for about 30 minutes only to no avail. After 40 minutes has passed, something suddenly happened!

Happening number 1: While recording the whole process, the screen on the video camera suddenly showed an all white scene, like a bright white light had shone into the camera. But they could not find the source of the white light and why the screen turned white. Minutes later, the video camera returned to normal.

Happening number 2: During the experiment, one of our crew member's arms became swollen and red for no apparant reason. Could the white light be the spirit coming forward to buy salt?

After 60 minutes had passed, we have decided to "close stall". The crew members who went forward to help the volunteer to clear the "stall" noticed that all the things they had brought for this experiment was not moved or touched at all. The floor also does not have any hell notes or tree branches.

Where does the bright light come from?

As to what had happened just now, SPI's founder, Kenny Fong gave some explanations. We cannot see the infrared lights with our naked eyes but during the recording of the investigation, the two video cameras were kind of facing each other. Thus the sudden white light could be caused by the infrared light which shone into the other camera.

Furthermore, we have discovered that our crew member whose arms suddenly turned red and swollen was actually standing near a tree. The tree is said to produce saps. Perhaps his arms brushed across the tree touching the tree saps unknowingly thus causing an allergic reaction to his arms.

From this night's experiment, we have come to wonder if the rumours of selling salt in the cemetery is true or false.

However, when we were just about to leave the cemetery, a question suddenly occured in my head. Why does the cemetery always feel so cool and windy?

According to Kenny Fong, that is because there are spaces all around, the tombstones are also not very tall enough and there are no big trees around to block the wind too. Therefore when one is in the cemetery, the atmosphere and the surrounding feels very cool and chilly.
