High Temperature

Hi, thought I would reuse this thread.

I noticed my temperature gauge started to go above the halfway mark today while idling at the traffic light. It seemed to improve when I switched the aircon off. Once the car is on the move again the temperature drops back to the halfway mark. Today is the first time this happened.

The water pump was replaced in November. Could it be due to a lack of coolant? Or perhaps the fan belt is slipping?

If the fan is working fine, no leaks found and coolant level ok, you might wanna try bleed the coolant system again, to remove any residue air that is causing the reduced cooling efficiency.

If your car have two fans for the engine, maybe one of the fan is not working.

Most of the transverse engines mounted in cars with aerodynamic bonnets tend to trap air bubbles in the cooling systems highest points and hardly they can be removed via the bleeding screw.

The best and fastest way for the mech to 100% free the cooling system from air bubbles is to use this simple device - see video.
