Engine Oil

erm.. alot of engine oil are actually not API certified and hence they do not have the API donut, but they try to confuse potential buyers by having a donut look-alike picture on the front, but insytead of stating API certified, it may be just wording saying: SAE something something..

API cetification is like GIA certification in diamonds and S&P/Moody's rating in financial institutions.

however do note that certification cost $$, and that a diamond without GIA cert doesn't mean its not a diamond, just that when a non-GIA cert diamond states its 1.5carat, VVS, D colour.. we will never be sure if its really that case. If its GIA cert damond, we are sure that the goods that we bought is what is shown on paper.

Well...

I would say that it is not MORALLY Right to State anyfoam API standard on their Engine Oil Bottle , packaging and even thier Advertisment.

This is a breech of Trust.

1) Consumer believe that it is certified under API

2) Infact it is not certified.

3) Shogun, X Rev are not an Honest BRAND as their Engine Oil Brand is not found under API listing

BTW... Personally I will boycott such DISHONEST brand!!! .... I do not know if the oil they Sell is really true STUFF....

Do not know if it is 挎羊头卖狗肉?

I do not want to be a STUPID consumer and be KANA Cut throat, and CON and Eat Carrot.

HOW do I really know if the Engine Oil I buy is really API Standard from Shogun and X rev?

There is some QUALITY assurance that the END- User cannot tell because of lack of technical Knowledge. Need API's Engineers to do their Quality Assurance re-inforcement.

It is not something like "well the Engnie Oil I used , feel good I guess the Engine Oil is good"

How to quantify such statments?

How would I know that if "Feel GOOD" after Change to the particular brand, I might just be conned to put a "SLOW KILLER" in my Engine?

Man in OVERSEAs, the Consumer Rights Activist will sue their backside off.

Cheers

Exxon Mobile and Shell is under the Listing

EXXONMOBIL OIL CORPORATION MOBIL 1 10W-30 SM/CF*

SINGAPORE PETROLEUM COMPANY LIMITED SPC SYN ACE 5W-40 SM/CF

(Even our National Brand is Registered) .

SHELL LUBRICANTS - SOPUS PRODUCTS FORMULASHELL SYNTHETIC BLEND 10W-30 SM*

It is not about having such logo or not.... It is more of IF you state you that your Engine Oil have API Standard.

Please be sure that it is really API Listed Engnie Oil brand/model.

Like Mobile 1 10W-30 API SM/CF. It is the Information that the company print on the Pacakging. It is not about the DONUT or STARBURST.

Well Mobil is really certified.

http://eolcs.api.org/FindBrandByViscosity....iscosity=10W-30

AS consumer it is more important to buy something REAL! .

An oil company would manufacturer many different grades of oil...doesn't mean if the company is listed, their entire product range is certified.

Packing without API donut and starburst may indicate that they meet and exceed the standards... there is nothing wrong with that... just that without the API icons, you just have to trust that the quality of the 1st bottle and subsequent bottles are the same.

Well Bro,

Hard to turst,

AS for Mobil One 10w 30 API SM ... that particular Engine Oil is certified.

So for EXXON Mobil .. they certified their product model.

Just check if the particular model is certified then purchase.

When Buying things I am cautious.

It is not about , API Donot or Starburst Printed.(You can leve the Logo out)

It is ANY printing that INDICATED the Engine Oil is under API standard , this is Misleading

NON - Logo Printing

eg : API SM/CF is printed in the front /back/side/top/bottom of the bottle.

I would rather they do not put any API indication , let the Consumer Decided.

Just like REDLine Engine Oil, ... They are not under the API Listing.. they did not state anything in-conjunction with API standard on their websites.

This is what I called GENTLEmen way. Let the Consumer Decided.

Not to MIS LEAD , CON or even BLUFF Consumer.

Such NON-Gentleman way of business dealings, as a consumer I feel like vomiting when I heard such brand. Can't help but Felt Cheated.... somehow.

Cheer

hi guys ...

According to this link

I cannot find SHOGUN Engine Oil, OWS Engine Oil, and even REV X is not Register with the link

http://eolcs.api.org/FindBrandByViscosity....iscosity=10W-30

Just a question

Since some of the Engine Oil DOES not have the Licence by EOLS

How come they can put in the API standard in their packaging?

After this I realized that even HONDA and Toyota are registered.

Toyota one is TRD.

I wonder the Redline is registered under EOLS?

Could anyone share some light... how can the OFF the Shelf , Engine Oil like Shogun , OWS , Rev X etc Print their API standard on their Packaging when they are not even certified? eg : http://x-lube.com/All%20frames.htm

Cheers

Gimmy
