interior of the 1.6 is very diff especially from the 2.0T FSI. I beleive the 2.0 FSI will be the same as the T version. Basically the 1.6 only has the Trendline version, but the 2.0s come with the Comfortline and the Sportsline version.

The Jetta 1.6 is comfortline version. However the performance and smoothness of the 2.0 FSI engine is wonderful. Not sure 2.0 is what version. To pay another 22K more over the 1.6 model is a difficult decision.

oh ya...thanks for pointing out my mistake...1.6 does come in Comfortline too.

I understand form the tech booklet that the 2.0 FSI does come in Comfortline and Sportline. But after some very close comparison, I would still choose the Comfortline.

Of course the 2.0T FSI come only in Sportline.

The followings are what I would prefer that is avail in Comfortline but not in Sportline:

1) Electrically adjustable door mirrors, front passenger door mirror with tilt function

2) Cruise control

3) ParkPilot

4) Tyre monitoring display (Sportline don't have this but has Fog lights...don't understand why VW just cannot make this a common item in the range)

5) "Maxima" pattern velours seat upholstery (Sportline have "Brick" pattern flat weave upolstery)

Any bros here have their point of view to share? What are you guys going to get?

This model is marketed as VW Sagitar in China since late last year, but not well received.. dont know why.

Well, the chinese are weird pple! [laugh] They find it not class enuf and are still snapping up the Passat like hot cakes. Passat is the best selling company car here!

I went to view the Polo, Passat and Sagitar but find the interior built quality not as good as Octavia. Then again, the Octavia here is fully imported while all VWs r made here

But when driving that time do you feel that the 1.6l is not responsive ???

Or it is good enough to fight with a sunny???

in fact to my surprise the 1.6 is pretty responsive...in fact much more than my sunny. But I don't know why they publish the century sprint as 13+sec...that is slower that the sunny's.

For $111k, can get Alfa159 2.2 with selespeed.

For non turbo Jetta $80k can get Fiat Bravo 1.4T with 150bhp.

Simple, see how they test century sprint. For European cars, it is standard practice to load up with a full fuel tank of normal fuel, 20kg in the boot and assume a 75kg driver.

For japanese cars, they test with minimum fuel (and top octane fuel at that for performance cars), no weight in the boot and 1 driver. The difference can be as much as 100kg from their rated weight.

Power for the Jetta is rated with 95RON, regardless of engine type. Base Ej20 in Subarus are rated at 220ps with 100 octane fuel. Put in 95 and they'll lose 20-30hp easily. With 98, it's not that bad.

The rear legroom looks cramp. Wheelbase is 2578mm only. is it really cramp?

The fc looks pretty good for a 2l turbo. 7.9l/100km, 12/7km/l.

the jetta can be summarized in one word : OVERPRICED ! [laugh]

generally, if u go europe, VW cars are cheap and affordable, economy style cars , over here, they become the luxury segment with luxury price tags to boot ... [mad]
