Zenvey Neutral Newbie July 28, 2007 Share July 28, 2007 (edited) Sigh got into an accident afew days ago but nobody was hurt. car quite badly damaged but still managed to drive to a workshop. i received a rough estimate of 13+k for repairs and i think an amount like this will be regarded as an total loss by the insurance. the workshop is from the T%n C**** so would like to ask you guys on your views and advice on the following 1) how do i estimate the current market value? my car is 1.5 years old 2) in your opinion is 13k reasonable for damages as such? assuming no engine damage 3) what is insurance loading? thanks for any advice Edited July 28, 2007 by Zenvey ↡ Advertisement

Weixiang_06 Clutched July 28, 2007 Share July 28, 2007 ya lah.. but then if your insurance company decides to call it total loss.... i would coz some insurance company, their total loss is close to what a scrap price would be
Vit4wd 1st Gear July 28, 2007 Share July 28, 2007 (edited) Judging from your damages, it is pretty superficial, which requires knocking back the metal, putty and respray. It shd cost approx $7K to $8K at most. My friend's car, which damage is similar to the picture below, cost S$13K to repair at an outside workhop. There was extensive damage to the engine, shaft and wheels too. Of course, the authorised distributor charges him almost double the price. That should be a rough gauge for you on your repair costs. Weixiang_06 Clutched July 28, 2007 Share July 28, 2007 repair it at some reputable ws outside... if your insurance coy is not giving the green light for the price quoted by the AD
