Curahee 1st Gear August 28, 2007 Share August 28, 2007 anything can happen, and the gahmen can be the first to implement anything they deem is right. I feel tat govt will install another ERP gentry at the jurong town hall rd to AYE, tat area traffic condition i can foresee will turn from bad to worse. Gantan88 Clutched August 28, 2007 Share August 28, 2007 Bro,plan this route for me.Morning i intend to go NTU,i live in hougang. How should i go?Go by CTE confirm ERP,go by serangoon road also ERP,where don't have ERP? Sorry Bro, i dun stay in north so i m not familiar. Aim is to kanna less erp, NOT totally escape erp. Several years back my friend stay in Hougang and i heard him said that he covered almost 3 or 4 expressway for him to travel to work in Tuas - No erp. Not sure now they got put up new gantries a not. Distance could also be longer. You have to weigh the distance traveled (time to reach your destination), peak hour jam (yr FC suffers) and the amount of erp u gotta pay. Go study the map a bit, maybe u can find a better route compared to yr current one.

Go from Hougang -> AMK -> Marymount -> Lornie -> PIE -> NTU. No ERP gantry at all, but prepare for a sloooooooow drive. I got a better drive route to ntu from hougang! Hougang -> Hit CTE up north -> SLE -> exit kranji(note not BKE) -> cut thru kranji industry estate(will pass TransIsland depot) -> pass Kranji dam(scenic drive sia...) -> Neo tiew(careful of winding road...can drive like rally) -> Lim Chu Kang airstrip way -> NTU Traffic free...smooth ride all the way! Infact all those wanting to go tuas every morning can use this way to aviod ERP on PIE, AYE and BKE....OOOOoops di i giv them an idea where to place a gantry? Wa this route very complicated for me... is it any longer by expressway route? If yes, sometimes it is more worth it to pay the erp and reach school faster. Less fatigue also. Flight_skoda Neutral Newbie August 28, 2007 Share August 28, 2007 Another way ... We can all line up before the Gantries and block all other traffic behind.... it then seems like a mass protest from the LTA cameras. Who will be the first line cars? Can ask Tony, NKPS & Porker lo
Meecar Clutched August 28, 2007 Share August 28, 2007 Hi all,i was wondering,if we all boycott ERP but passing it without cashcard, can it deter the garmen to remove the ERP?Hope other brother can chip in the idea of abolishing the useless ERP system. There is a lot of inconsistency here in this forum. These are the contradictions that are too often seen here: 1. make the price of car cheaper .... 2. many cars on the road .... more usage charges OK 3. boycott ERP .... less cars on the road ..... help fulfill gahmen's plan and at the same time more revenue for the country Basically, owning a car is a luxury, therefore if I can't afford to pay, I will not own a car in the first place. I will take the public transport.

Passion 5th Gear August 29, 2007 Author Share August 29, 2007 i agree owning a car is a luxury.but now the gahment is making it more of torture than luxury.Ppl from from the rich family also cannot take it,they are getting from rich to poor, and no longer rich and richer. Now their policies is to make poor to be poorer, rich to be poor.and they themselves to be richer to richest! Ai ya. All talk no action. I hav boycott ERP, MRT & BUS since Dec 2006. I don't take them unless i m rushing 4 time. Switch 2 good old bicycle. Don't say that it is dangerous unless u hav been riding daily 4 sometime. Don't say that it is low class because my bike is not cheap. Don't say that u will perspire as i hav been riding 2 work in Business Shirt, pants & tie. I ka a lot especially bimmer. However, i realised that why should i pay so much 4 that 1/2 hr comfort going through traffic jam. If u cannot change d system, change urself. cool like your style. I love to cycle also. Yeobh 4th Gear August 29, 2007 Share August 29, 2007 Very simple minded man The best solution is to drive less or stop driving completely so as to reduce thier ERP collections.
