I got my part time maid thru my close fren. We shared the part time maid. When the maid goes to her pl during Sun, i will ask her to come my pl during Sat morning. Usually, i will ask the maid to clean my hse for me during every Sat morning. I can say that she is [thumbsup][thumbsup] . She cleans up everything in the hse including my cabinets too.

Hi hi, seems like you are one who has most 'lobangs' and experience with part-time maids (I did a search on the forum). Would you have any to recommend? Am looking for one and I stay at Holland area, near Holland Village. Thanks!

if housework's bothering u, part-time maids are a waste of money. I suggest investing in some toys like me.

1) Roomba, a vaccum robot.

2) Scooba, a floor washing robot.

3) A steam cleaner, i'm using the brand Karcher.

4) A dishwasher, i'm using Electrolux.

With my new toys, i only need around 20 mins or so to clean the entire 4 room flat. And it's not sloppy job, it's really very clean.

The amount to pay for a part-time maid far exceeds the cost of investing in technology.

Just my 2 cents, cheers.

I bought only Roomba, as i don't mind spending 15 mins to steam clean the floor, but for someone really no time/lazy, just get Scooba as well.

Roomba costs $399 and Scooba costs $1200.

I run Roomba daily, so my house is super clean. If i have a maid come in daily for an hour, i every 2 months can buy one robot, still got money leftover hahaha

the dishwasher is $900....but same theory, if i have someone come in and wash dishes everyday for me, every 6 months i can buy one machine.

The steam cleaner is wonderful, costs $499, and can steam-mop the floor, steam clothes, clean any hard surfaces...and it's super clean and super fast.....100 degree steam instantly dissolves and vapourises oil/stains.

Hope this info is useful. Cheers.

wah.. so good ah...

but the thing about the roomba is what kind of floor it can handle? carpet or partial carpet? can it clean the corners or dead zones? who effective if u put a scale of 1-10?

maybe the website can give u better answers.

My personal verdict is i rate it 70/100.

It's not as good as a powerful vaccum cleaner in the hands of a maid, obviously, but for only a few hundred dollars, it can do thousand of dollars of work, simply because it's a robot. I run it when i sleep, in the morning wake up to a clean house :) It's slightly more effective than a very good sweep. If u run it everyday like me, confirm the house damm clean. No matter what it beats once a week, which is the frequency of most ppl without a maid.
