  2. Bros My mum is getting on in age, and we have rather busy lives. Currently we've managed without any maid, but I'm seriously looking at hiring someone - to help clean up the home, bit of cooking etc - be her companion - help her - she's ok with English but better in Mandarin Mum is very healthy right now, but getting forgetful. So I'm asking: - any tips and suggestions that come to your minds, please sound out - which nationality? Phil? - any agencies - costs? - alternatives eg helpers who come once or twice a week - Amah agencies? Any other info will be really helpful, thanks!
  3. https://mothership.sg/2023/09/maid-sexual-abuse-child/ https://www.asiaone.com/singapore/parent-accuses-maid-sexually-assaulting-his-daughters-placing-mouth-childs-private-parts S'pore helper allegedly forces face, hands onto private parts of employer's daughters aged 1 & 4 "My child has been repeatedly lying on the floor, suffering from the trauma," the employer said. Julia Yee | September 06, 2023, 05:59 PM Telegram Whatsapp Warning: The article contains images and descriptions of sexual assault on minors. Reader discretion is advised. A domestic helper in Singapore was reportedly caught on camera sexually assaulting her employer's children. In a Facebook post dated Sep. 5, the employer stated that he had turned to social media to seek justice for his daughters in light of the "delayed action" taken during the recent cases of alleged child abuse in Kinderland schools. Noticed child behaving differently He first noticed his four-year-old daughter "behaving differently" in July 2023, he told Mothership. The girl had mentioned being inappropriately touched by the helper, but when the employer brought up the issue with the helper, she denied the accusation. The helper had been with the family for six months by then. Upon checking the house's CCTV cameras, the employer discovered that his child had been telling the truth. Repeated instances of sexual assault CCTV footage revealed that the helper had been committing the alleged acts of sexual assault on both the employer's one-year-old and four-year-old daughters. In one screenshot, the helper was seen with her hands between one of the girl's legs. According to her employer, the helper "aggressively [and] repeatedly thrust her fingers at [the child's] private parts", persisting even when the girl cried for her to stop. The employer also shared an audio recording in his post, which supposedly captured his child screaming during the assault. Other photos showed the helper in the girl's bedroom, where she "removed her glasses, opened the child's legs forcefully, and placed her mouth, face and hands at the child's private parts" despite the girl putting up a struggle. Image via anonymous employer Image via anonymous employer The helper also allegedly forced the children to place their faces at her crotch and touch it while she molested them. The images were said to be just the "non-graphic" ones. The helper was also said to "pinch" the children's private parts when they were unclothed and would sometimes bring them to "secluded" blind spots away from the cameras, allegedly to assault them sexually. Police investigating The employer stated that his family was referred to an AWARE specialist who established the acts as sexual assault offences after reviewing the evidence. A police report was lodged on Jul. 31, and the helper was taken away on Aug. 10. According to the employer, however, his children are still dealing with the trauma from the alleged repeated molestations. "My child has repeatedly been lying on the floor, suffering from the trauma, and I am still waiting for psychological help from the authorities. As the police and Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) are still investigating, I expect justice to be delivered without harming or involving my child any further," said the employer. A police spokesperson confirmed with Mothership that they received the report and are investigating the case.

    Maid in Haven

3 weeks ago, I decided to let my maid go for her first 'off' day after 8 months working with me. Before this off day, it was mutually agreed that we compensate her for not taking off. This time round, I encouraged her to go 'see' the world by allowing off days. Was supposed to be back at 6 pm. It was 9 pm and no sign of her. I kind of thought she may have lost her way, so I troed calling her mobile but it was off. Then it struck me that she might have ran away. But.... all her belongings were not taken. Was told to wait 24 hours before lodging a Police report. Informed the agency and no advice given at all. Was speaking to some of my BFFs and they suggested me calling H.O.M.E. Didnt really know what it was so I gave it a try and called. Lo and behold, my maid had conveniently 'checked-in' herself! With that check-in, our friend had also drawn up a list of incredulous accusations! The lady at HOME sarcasticly said that SHE IS SAFE HERE. SHE HAVE THE RIGHT TO STAY HERE INDEFINTELY! I farked her up and asked them why did they not contact me as the employer upon check in as we were worried she got raped or killed somewhere etc. She gave some nonchalant reply as if she cant be bothered. I did some research and realised this is the same outfit run by some folk called Jolovan Wham that prevents injured foreign workers to be repatriated. I didn't know that they do maids too! What statutory right do they have to keep maids? Why was I not informed as the employer? Who funds them? What if, these maids, are 'chao geng'? Does that mean, they get a free holiday in a chalet doing nothing for an indefinite period of time? Is there a limit in the time they can stay there? MOM has contacted me regarding the accusations and I will be there on Friday to counter them. Anyone else has any of such experience? Can we repatriate the darn bitch after closure with MOM or MOM has the right to decide? Any input will be helpful. p.s. I do not need any flame wars. So keep the sarcasm and accusations to yourself. Thanks.

  6. 'Such a betrayal of trust': Woman catches maid having sex in master bedroom at Canberra home, 'trespasser' arrested https://www.asiaone.com/singapore/such-betrayal-trust-woman-catches-maid-having-sex-master-bedroom-canberra-home-trespasser?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Facebook&fbclid=IwAR2-jnqUrekBexqcuGoVb1tM013w3nPTI3ReRu1AuqB-ITYUXzdhPAcLFBs#Echobox=1663221681 SEPTEMBER 15, 2022 PUBLISHED AT 1:48 PM By CHERLYNN NG Stomp It was the ultimate horror and betrayal of trust for a woman who caught her domestic helper having sex with a man in her home on Sunday (Sept 11). The man was subsequently arrested by the police in Stomp contributor Shalini's four-room flat at Block 107A Canberra Street. Shalini, who lives with her husband and four-year-old son, said the maid has been with them for three years and never thought something like this could happen in her own house. She told Stomp: "Normally, there would be people around constantly. My husband works from home but that day, he had to run some errands and I was visiting the temple. "When I woke up in the morning and before going out, I told my maid to sleep in since it's her day off. However, she literally slept with another man." All hell broke loose after Shalini returned home from the temple at around 11.45am. She recounted: "I stepped into my house after visiting the temple. I noticed that my master bedroom's door was closed and heard some thumping noises coming from there. "I was appalled when my maid came out apologising to me in Tamil. She kept saying 'Akka (sister), I'm sorry, I'm sorry'. "I immediately bawled as I knew that there was another person in the room. I saw an unknown man getting dressed and was so devastated when he came out from my master bedroom approximately three minutes later. "I cried as that was the first emotion I had: Betrayal. "I held the door as I didn't want them to escape. I was so distressed that I couldn't remember what number to call for the police. I was so shocked, appalled, dumbfounded and trembling." The Stomp contributor eventually managed to call her husband, who happened to be just five minutes away. For Shalini, the incident was exceptionally hurtful and shocking because she had always treated her maid "like family". The domestic helper, who is from India, has every Sunday off and draws a monthly salary of $700. "My maid had been with me for almost three years and I could not come to believe that this happened in my house," Shalini shared. "I had trusted her so much all this while. She was good at her work, be it general chores or taking care of my son, like picking him up from school. "I treated her like family and would even buy her the same clothes. I think I made a mistake there, being too lenient because it's my nature." Shalini said her maid and the man have been seeing each other for "some time", adding: "I confiscated both their phones and saw countless videos of them being sexually active every week." She showed Stomp texts between the couple. There were also multiple pictures of them hugging, kissing and behaving intimately. PHOTO: Stomp However, Shalini believes that this is the first time her maid has been brazen enough to bring the man home. She explained: "There are usually people at home all the time, especially in the last two years due to the pandemic. "My maid usually sleeps in the common room on a mattress. She doesn't enter the master bedroom on normal days. Why couldn't they have gone to a hotel or gotten a room elsewhere? "Police came and arrested the man for unlawful trespassing. I am grateful that they took swift action instead of meditation and letting him go free. "I was shocked when the police took out a beautiful pair of silver handcuffs and put it on the man as I was not expecting it." According to Shalini, the man was taken to the police station. Shalini and her husband also had to go down to give their statements. The Stomp contributor said: "I booked a flight and sent my maid back home at 8pm on the same day. It was expensive but I didn't care. I just wanted to get rid of her. "I want to extend my thanks to the police. In the moment when I saw the man being arrested, I felt like a true-blue Singaporean and was glad to be protected by the law. "I am sharing this because I want people to know that if this happens in your household, you can count on the police. The police are there to help." In response to a Stomp query, the police said they received a call for assistance at 11.46am and arrested a 31-year-old man for wilful trespass. Police investigations are ongoing. Asked what her next steps are or if she plans to get a new domestic helper, Shalini told Stomp: "I am not ready yet as the trauma is still fresh. What happened that day still flashes in my mind. "It was such a betrayal of trust."
  7. The maid did a sexy dance in front of the camera and also made her wheelchair-bound granny show face. https://www.zaobao.com.sg/news/singapore/story20211023-1206223 Again! A young maid made Ama in a wheelchair show her face in the TikTok video and performed a sexy "shot dance" in front of her. Ama looked blank. After the video went out, a lot of netizens were bombarded. Recently, a TikTok video circulated on the Internet. A young maid was dancing sexy to the camera, but she arbitrarily let her elderly employer who was sitting next to her in a wheelchair, also show up. Netizens condemned the maid’s negligence and exposed the old employer’s privacy. According to the video, the 20-year-old maid wears a vest and tight black shorts, showing her shiny white thighs. With music stuck, she dances sexy with TikTok's popular "shot dance". In the background, an Ama was sitting in a wheelchair, her mouth was slightly open, her expression sluggish and motionless. The maid appeared in the picture with the music. She put her hands on A-Ma's legs or held A-Ma's hands, and her body danced with the music. The most disgusting thing is that afterwards, she shook her buttocks in the direction of Ama, making her movements very unsightly. The maid finally held Ama’s neck with both hands and pushed her body forward; finally, the maid looked at the camera and the whole video ended. Throughout the whole process, Ama remained in the wheelchair with the same movements and expressions, which made people wonder whether Ama knew what was happening at the moment, and believed that she would show up in the video if she didn't understand it herself. After the video came out, many netizens condemned. Everyone criticized the maid’s behavior, hoping that the employer would take action against the maid’s dereliction of duty. "Lianhe Evening News" also reported in April this year that a group of young maids appeared in Bukit Batok. They gathered downstairs in HDB flats to dance and shoot short Tik Tok videos. They let their employers' kids have "free activities", neglecting to watch over them at all, and old employers are not allowed to go to the toilet when they have to urinate. The reporter found one 25-year-old maid at the time. She said that she gathered with the other maids when she sent her old employer in a wheelchair to the nursing home and picked him up. She confessed that she was wrong and said that she would pay attention to her behavior in the future. After the incident came to light, some employers also decided to fire the maid after learning that the maid had neglected to take care of his eighty-year-old father.

    Maid Agency

Helping my buddy on selecting a maid now Are all maid agency the same? I went to Katong SC, so many maid agencies there, and also dunno which on to go in.... Why are different agencies charge differently? What are the catches here? Any hidden cost that I need to be aware of? Indon, Pinoy or Myanmarese? Thanks for helps from those experienced bro here.
  9. Hi Appreciate if you can share your experience, recommendation or advice should you have had this similar problem I'm facing now........ Hired a 9 yrs experienced Indonesia maid - paid more hoping she can help my wife........Maid arrived & complained not happy, wanna transfer on her 3rd day. Called maid agency....... was told to hold on to her, no new Biodata available yet. Waited & waited, while bearing with her bad, 'bochap' attitude towards us despite treating her like one of our family.... makans, short tour, outings etc. Of course, gotta bear with her mistakes made........ she spoiled 2 TVs by wiping with wet cloth, choked toilet pipe & many others. Despite lecturing her, she continued her 'bochap' attitude. On the 4th week, she ran away (w/o our knowledge) to the agency & accused that my wife slapped her. Last I heard from maid agency that police report was made by them & she is now under investigation. I guess she's now either in the Home or agency's lodge. Obviously, agency is not helping us at all, for all this matter! We (me & wife) are concerned but not worry in proving our innocence. Yes, my wife chided her at times on her mistakes, but we do not lay hands on her! We lodged a police report for our perusal to further actions, if needed. Called MOM, they adviced to speak with concerned IOfficer for permission to cancel WPermit. Called police, they dunno if any abovementioned report was made against us, just asked us to wait . . . Called maid agency, I summarized the answer: 'no disclosure until investigation ends' Now, what can we do besides waiting........ WPermit is still under my name, I'm still liable for her & I'm sure there will be $$$ charged onto me during this 'investigation period'. Your Best Advice Please. . . . .
  10. Someone please tell me what the point of this exercise is? The employer's address will no longer be printed on the card. Great for privacy, right? Wrong. The free app still allows pretty much anyone to scan the QR code and display all the details on their phone. So how exactly does this protect the employer from, say, harassment by loan sharks whom the FDW owes money to? In fact, not displaying the employer's address on the card has the downside of discouraging good samaritans from directly returning the card to employers if it's convenient for them. Especially if they're not tech savvy enough to scan in the code. I simply don't get it. Maybe I'm missing something.
  11. Dear all, My baby girl is coming to 7 weeks old soon. Smart and healthy (according to PD...3 visits so far) but otherwise cranky little girl that cries a lot...having some heartburn and indigestion issues... We are considering the next steps after my wife's maternity leave is over....the options are... 1. Infant care. We will find a good one...at most 1:3 ratio that is near our place. I will send her to infant care in the morning and back in the evening. Problem: we are afraid that the infantcare teacher will just leave her crying and not carry her when she does...also babt after 4 months can take solid food...not sure if the infantcare will feed her solid food or if they have the patients. 2. We will engage a foreign domestic maid from Myanmar and ask our mum to stay with us over weekday. 1-3 my mum...4-5 her mum. Problem: too many nightmare stories about maid. My sister had such a nightmare last time that she packed and sent back the maid on 2nd week home...forfeiting her maid load of 2-3k. Also, having mum and inlaw over will create another set of problems...waiting to be discovered. Advise needed.... If you had sent your baby to infantcare, please share your experience and what to look out for. If you have a foreign domestic maid, please advise on the steps to getting a maid. Also, which agencies are more reliable...that i know is another nightmare. Also...how much did you pay upfront on the maid loan and whats the agency fee like. And how many exchange allow and within what timeframe. Many thanks in advance!
  12. https://stomp.straitstimes.com/singapore-seen/woman-killed-in-lentor-avenue-accident-had-pushed-toddler-out-of-the-way-before Sad. In times of crisis, she saved the toddler. I used that junction many times. I think lta needs to have more markings warning about that traffic light. It’s a new traffic light in a very straight road with cars speeding. I usually wait until car stop before crossing even if light is in my favour.
  13. hi all, just thought that i should share my sister's experience with her helper that borrow from 2 loan sharks and 3 or 4 ( not sure )credit company, total amount about 9k initially, didnt want to bring it up but found out that the former helper is trying again to come back singapore and presumably, repeat the same trick of applying lots of illegal and legal loans then escaping back to Philippines below are her details, her name Maribel Cabigas Turalba attachment=272632:Screenshot_20181127-001422_Samsung Internet.jpg] hopefully, might save future employers from further troubles and this thread might be a good reference point for prospective employers

  17. Don’t forget abt the maid oso hor http://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/driver-sentenced-to-one-week-s-jail-for-accident-which-led-to-10547298
  18. so ytd someone took a video of two maids walking their dogs but actually were just chilling under the shade and chatting. he began berating the two supposedly maids for not "doing their job" because their "boss" asked them to walk their dogs but they were sitting there chit chatting. accused them of walking the dogs for 2 mins and sitting down for 1 hour. video poster also say the dogs very poor thing and suffering cos they were not being walked.. well to me the dogs look healthy and happy to be there. having one dog and one helper myself i would have no issues with my helper bringing my dog for a walk with another fellow helper from the neighbourhood. they may be here to work but they still need sometime to socialise? my daughter used to walk my dog before our helper came and she would go down at a certain timing every night to meet one helper from the same block as us who also walked her employer's dog. harmless chit chatting i dont see whats wrong. if he was really concerned i guess he could have talked to them politely instead of taking a video and threatening them. maids/helpers are also humans. what about you guys? do you guys allow your helper some time off each evening to socialise with their friends, for instance walking the dogs. if you saw them downstairs walking your dog with another fellow helper, would you be ok with it? this country needs to chill! https://www.facebook.com/jason.ong.9822/videos/10155688631883215/
  19. ... What can I say....? Maid, 28, jailed 10 months for having sex with employer's 14-year-old son Elena Chong Court Correspondent SINGAPORE - A domestic worker has been jailed for 10 months for having sex with a minor half her age. The 28-year-old Indonesian woman admitted on Monday to having sex with her employer's 14-year-old son in a house on Sept 5. Neither party can be named due to a gag order. A district court heard that the accused came to Singapore in late June this year and started work for the boy's family on July 3. At about 7pm on Sept 5, the boy was at home with the woman and another foreign domestic helper. His parents and his uncle had gone out. The boy was showing card tricks to the woman when she tried to hug him but he moved her hand away. Later, he went up to his room to put away the cards. About a minute later, the woman came into his room . As he was sitting on a chair in front of the computer table, she came from behind and started kissing his cheeks and neck. He stood up and tried to walk to the door. Before he could leave, she hugged him and began to remove her shorts and panties. Shocked by what was happening, he did not resist. She then removed his clothes, took him to his bed and had sex with him. When she heard the boy's uncle had come home, she stopped. He later told his father what had happened. Urging the court to impose at least 10 months' jail, Deputy Public Prosecutor Nicholas Lai cited aggravating factors such as breach of trust; unprotected nature of the intercourse; and said the woman was tested positive for Chlamydia trachomatis, a sexually transmitted disease. He said it was reprehensible, regardless of whether the boy was eventually infected or not. It could have been sheer luck that he was not infected, but the fact remained that she put the boy at risk. The woman, whose sentence was backdated to Sept 7, could have been jailed for up to 10 years and fined for having sex with a person under 16 years old.

  21. The sad incident happened last year and the report on the ST report on the state coroner's findings was published two weeks ago. MCFers who are staying in old high-rise apartment do take serious note that some of the railing gaps may be wide enough for toddlers to squeeze through. In addition there might be stupid railing or parapet designs with horizontal bars/gaps which allows toddlers or children to climb over. From Straits Times: http://www.straitstimes.com/breaking-news/...s-life-20130321 Toddler fell to death two months after maid saved his life Published on Mar 21, 2013 10:07 AM Twenty-one-month-old Eric fell to his death after squeezing through the bars of a balcony on the fourth floor of a condominium unit. -- ST PHOTO: SEAH KWANG PENG By Khushwant Singh LAST April, a toddler was saved as he was about to fall from a fourth-floor balcony. Two months later, he was not so lucky. Eric Wong Yu Hao, a year and nine months old, fell to his death after squeezing through the bars of the balcony at a Hillview Green condominium in Upper Bukit Timah. State Coroner Imran Abdul Hamid, while saying he found that the death was accidental yesterday, urged those who look after young children to check possible dangers in their homes and put in safety measures. He pointed out that there are online groups offering solutions to make homes safe. "While I don't think anyone can guarantee that the suggested solutions will be 100 per cent effective, at the very least caregivers can have the peace of mind that what could possibly be done to make the home safe for young children, has been done," he said.

  23. Why!? Why!? Why?! are we still seeing such cases??? Still ask for discount??? CCB! http://www.straitstimes.com/news/singapore/courts-crime/story/employer-used-household-items-hit-and-burn-domestic-worker-2015052 Employer used household items to hit and burn domestic worker By Elena Chong SINGAPORE - A woman heated a metal ladle until it was red hot and placed it on the calf and bare back of her domestic worker because she did not like the taste of the curry she cooked, a court heard on Friday. About a week before that, Suganthi Jayaraman, 33, used a metal pestle to hit Ms Naw Mu De Paw, 24, on her head for not frying vadais - a deep-fried snack - fast enough. The Myanmar helper bled heavily from the two spots she was hit, but was forced to continue frying, and to take the vadais to a provision shop which Suganthi and her husband were then running. Suganthi pleaded guilty to three of seven charges. The offences took place at her flat in Woodlands Drive 16. The court heard that during the time the helper was abused - from July 9 to Oct 2, 2013 - she lived in constant fear of being beaten again. She was often afraid to tell anyone about an incident and did not even dare to inspect her wounds as Suganthi would scold her for it, said Deputy Public Prosecutor Sarah Chua. Suganthi would also threaten the victim that she would get into trouble if she ran away or called the police. The victim eventually left the flat on Oct 3 and called the police. On the morning of Sept 30, Ms Naw woke up late because she had been working till 4am the night before. She was supposed to be up by 6.30am to send her employer's daughter to school. Suganthi confronted her and scolded her harshly after finding the girl still at home. Then she punched her in the face. Lawyer Louis Joseph said his client, who had been crying in the dock, deserved some discount for her guilty plea. "Even though her behaviour was unforgivable, she stands before you remorseful and regretful for what she had done," he told District Judge Christopher Goh, who will sentence her on June 5. Suganthi could be jailed for up to 10-and-a-half years and fined for causing hurt with a heated substance. The punishment for the other two offences is a jail term of up to three years and/or fine of up to $7,500 each. [email protected] Copyright © 2015 Singapore Press Holdings. All rights reserved.
