Eko6 2nd Gear November 26, 2007 Share November 26, 2007 I always hear people say that Honda engine is good. How come the youtube video shows otherwise? Any expert to enlighten? How about handling wise? Is the korean playing some tricks? Is the video truthful? ↡ Advertisement
Husky Clutched November 26, 2007 Share November 26, 2007 That explains the infamously higher fuel consumption of mazdas, they really can zoom zoom!
Kyojin 1st Gear November 26, 2007 Share November 26, 2007 how can u tell if an engine is good or no good by a race?? when people say Honda engines are "good" i think they are referring to its construction durability. furthermore, these are the "weaker" MPV engines and not the performance ones. as for the korean vid, hard to tell. esp if it's a paid test, then could be skewed. EventH 1st Gear November 26, 2007 Share November 26, 2007 Honda engines aside ... the Mazda 5 really looks impressive in that test. I think that Sonata is fitted with AGCS This is a comparison of Sonata with and without it. It just shows the miracle of advanced traction control and 4 wheel steering. and what is AGCS http://autofocusasia.com/engine_chassis_sy...trol_system.htm I doubt our local baseline models come with this. Virus 2nd Gear November 27, 2007 Share November 27, 2007 Of course Mazda can zoom zoom, the driver is Keiichi Tsuchiya.
Myturbo Neutral Newbie November 27, 2007 Share November 27, 2007 From the video clip, can you still trust the Korean testing team (especially if they're film in Korea). This also explain why Honda sell so much more cars then all the Korean car add together (in SIN & whole world) I always hear people say that Honda engine is good. How come the youtube video shows otherwise? Any expert to enlighten? How about handling wise? Is the korean playing some tricks? Is the video truthful? Krieger 5th Gear November 28, 2007 Share November 28, 2007 Honda is one hell of a good engine for everyday driving as well as a short sprint once a while. Honda actually scarifices FC for the capability of the short burst. But IMHO, it is a good scarifice. If Honda can become the offical testing partner of ENCAP (heard next year), I will definely change to Honda for my next car. Strong body + Good engine!! Sturtles 6th Gear November 28, 2007 Share November 28, 2007 I always hear people say that Honda engine is good. How come the youtube video shows otherwise? Any expert to enlighten? How about handling wise? Is the korean playing some tricks? Is the video truthful? Both mazdas have the 2.3L engine, whereas the rsz stream only has a 2L, the absolute should be a 2.4 if i'm not wrong, but the car also the heaviest one. Not a fair comparison, so I would think this clip is not telling it all.

Chisiang 2nd Gear November 29, 2007 Share November 29, 2007 Ha ha I never believe their any of their test. They are usually very commercialized. There's a lot of things happening in the back that more than meets the eye. Anyway this test is not about engine, more like "making Honda look like idiot if we... use their CVT version... use crap tyres..."
