Lmeng69 1st Gear December 12, 2007 Share December 12, 2007 Many years ago, I was driver a black Nissan Sunny. The rain was so heavy that my car could not be seen. Besides the headlights, I turned on the hazard lights too. Bro, I feel hazard lights here shd not be used. It creates confusion instead. Switching on your headlights, front and rear fog lights if you have them are good enuff for visibility to others.

Switching on your headlights, front and rear fog lights if you have them are good enuff for visibility to others. Many years back, mine was a 1982 Nissan Sunny without rear fog lights. Hazard light was the only rear lights available.
Thermodynamics Neutral Newbie December 12, 2007 Share December 12, 2007 i feel many cars are following too closely to the cars infront. Yes, tailgating that is.And when they repeat this same habit in wet weathers, there it goes..the chained crash, here and there... Maybe they are drafting. Stary Turbocharged December 12, 2007 Share December 12, 2007 Yesterday afternoon was pouring very very heavily. Was driving and just do not understand why 90% of the cars on the road just refuse to turn on headlight. I'm quite sure that most MCF ppl will turn on headlights (MCF ppl are simply different from ppl outside). what are the reasons that ppl does not turn on headlights during heavy rain. 1) save battery 2) save petrol 3) do not want ppl to see u as "chicken" 4) what other reasons? Guys, remember to on your lights. Fog lights, small light, big light, whatever. Just make sure you on some lights.
Wave_rider Neutral Newbie December 12, 2007 Share December 12, 2007 I always practise switching on Hazard light when E brake on Expressway or tight corners. I think it's a good practise after I observe that the ROC military buses do it.
Cklasse 1st Gear December 12, 2007 Share December 12, 2007 Agreed. There are many who dont bother to switch the headlights On. For me, once it rains, no matter small or big, i'll immediately turn them On. I would like to suggest to all MCF ppl to practise to step a few times on the brake-pedal, so as to give a more obvious hint to the cars from behind, to know that u are reducing ur speed...rather than just step once on the pedal.. Just to be aware that during heavy downpours, our Tail-lights are not visible enough..and our brake-lights will look like the tail-lights when stepped.. For this blinking brake light, watch for the new C-class on the road. The new C-class brake lights blink when the driver hits the brake in an emergency stop. This is the new road standard Mercedes-Benz is pushing to set for the future.

Viviobluerex Clutched December 12, 2007 Share December 12, 2007 for pple who typically dun even want to use their turn indicators, do you think they want to turn on their headlights? maybe they still can see others well, so they just assume pple can see them too?! some drivers die die also must stick to 7pm then turn on headlights, regardless of visibility.. Indeed, many such drivers on the road. Rigid, must follow law. Law say 7pm-7am must on Headlight. Other time they never on not against the law, hahaha, idiots. Wait until a truck full of sand comes running to their back and can't see em. Rollover@!

Helloworld88 2nd Gear December 13, 2007 Share December 13, 2007 They think that "if I can see the road, why have to turn it on in daylight ?" For me, I even turn it on in sheltered carpark.
Wave_rider Neutral Newbie December 13, 2007 Share December 13, 2007 huh ... I dun take my eyes off at all ... I know where all the switched are without looking.
