Rickster 5th Gear October 6, 2008 Share October 6, 2008 Asking price in SgCarmart does not equate to the closing price of the deal. Which numbskull over here will go look into SgCarmart, look at the dealer's price at $82k and go down and buy the car at $82k? ZERO man. If you are unable to suck it up that you are losing a huge amount of money due to the conti-make car that you are hiring now, do sell it on your own. But I bet MCFers are good earners. So many can drive conti cars and income bracket should be $80k-$120k annually. I doubt they will waste their time in going through all the hassle. From personal experience, a conti car that has an asking price of around 60K can easily knock off another 5K. ↡ Advertisement
Rickster 5th Gear October 6, 2008 Share October 6, 2008 Cool man bro, actually no right or wrong lah. Up to every individual. If you feel that spend a little time can save you few grands then direct sell lor. If you feel that the time you spend on direct sale is not worth the few grands then get the dealer's service lor. But for me, i choose to save the few grands by selling direct. Maybe my income is not high enough. Anyway, that time when i sell my car direct, a dealer actually offer to settle the all paper work for me at just $300. I find it quite reasonable and gave him the biz. So actually its not that difficult or troublesome. Another option that many owners overlooked - dealer consignment. Usually dealers will ask for a flat fee of around $1K +/- for selling the car on your behalf and doing all the paperwork.

Vextan 1st Gear April 13, 2009 Share April 13, 2009 actually no car has good resale value be it jap , korean, conti or malaysia. you buy high , sell higher. buy low, sell lower. in terms of percentage, all equal, equally low. for cars that has great demand, the supply tend to be huge also. conversely, for rare cars, the demand is low, but the supply is also low. and price is determined by demand and supply. Felipe 3rd Gear April 13, 2009 Author Share April 13, 2009 really depends on model of car. but at least from what i went through, popular cars like altis and swift depreciate less and dealers can take in at decent price. conti and expensive jap brands will lose more. but anyway, if you buy to drive for 5 years, it doesn't matter anyway.
