Ixat 1st Gear February 18, 2006 Share February 18, 2006 hullo guys, I tried the Starter Kit today, AIO did not totally remove all the water marks and swirl. And after SG application cannot really see the diff between panels that is done and not. Is it because car is still new so paintwork is still good? Or my application method sala? ↡ Advertisement
Marcostan 4th Gear February 19, 2006 Share February 19, 2006 IXAT, AIO is only a mild chemical cleaner and it can only take out the newly water marks. For those leave more than 1 week and the paintwork was never get any wax or sealant then it is possible the water marks already etch in and it need to use more aggressive product to take it out. A lot of ppl think they need not to take care for their new car, but the fact is the earlier you do something is always the best & make the maintaince easier in the future. You can try claybar, some water spot can take out and u also can use AIO again & again. Apply with a bit pressure and hopefully can take out those swirl & water marks. Ah_bon Neutral Newbie February 19, 2006 Share February 19, 2006 As what Bro Marcostan say, AIO is a mild chemical cleaner, dun think it is supposed to take out swirls... to take out light swirls you may have to use polishing products. do correct me if i'm wrong. thanks! Ixat 1st Gear February 19, 2006 Share February 19, 2006 Thanks for ur replies guys. Looked at the car under sunlight today and swirl marks are not so obvious anymore. Surface feels very smooth and buttery. However, what should I be looking our for in terms of "looks" I'm comparing 2 panel - ones done and other not. Both looks the same too my untrained eyes. Wondering if i did the application wrongly.

Marcostan 4th Gear February 23, 2006 Share February 23, 2006 Woofie, Check with your car salesman, when is the date of collection. Call Klasse mobile service and make a booking. Once you collect your ride try to use Klasse to treat your babe ASAP. Get your Klasse from the mobile service and they are much willing to show u how to use Klasse to maintance your babe in the future. MarcosTan

Ixat 1st Gear February 26, 2006 Share February 26, 2006 Hullo marcos, Kindly advise, I have done my first layer of AIO and SG. AIO and SG seems very easy to apply, just work into the paintwork till no or little residue left and wiped off with cloth. Checked by sliding hands over to see if the buttery effect is there. No problem here? Got 2 question - 1. If i want to add more layers of SG, can I do it weekly after my wash? Do not need any AIO anymore right? 2. When do I go through the whole process again AIO - SG? When I start the process must I do anything or just go straight for wash - AIO - SG? Lookswise did not notice much diff as mentioned earlier. However when drying the car after washing, can feel a diff between panels done and those not. Thanks for advising!
Marcostan 4th Gear February 26, 2006 Share February 26, 2006 Bro IXAT, 1. Yes, you can layering SG every week. This is what I'm doing, no need to do AIO. 2. 3-4 months later you need to do the whole process again. Wash, Clay, AIO then SG. MarcosTan
Ixat 1st Gear February 27, 2006 Share February 27, 2006 Hi bro, 3-4 months is after the last layer of SG is applied? Or start counting from the day i started AIO + 1st layer of SG? What signs would I observe that shows that re-application of AIO + SG is required? So from now till i reapply AIO, just weekly washes will do? Or every now and then can add a SG again? Sorry if i sound confusing. Cheerz
Marcostan 4th Gear February 27, 2006 Share February 27, 2006 Hi Ixat, 1. 3-4 months from the day you did AIO. 2. Weekly maintenance is wash + if possible another layer of SG. The signs that show me to redo the whole process is very personnel, when I feel the paintwork is a bit rough and the shine is not clear. Then it's time for me to redo. Nerdie Neutral Newbie March 2, 2006 Share March 2, 2006 What about applying Meguir #21 on top of SG?? Is that advisable?
Marcostan 4th Gear March 2, 2006 Share March 2, 2006 Bro, No experience with #21, but you can try anything you like & see whether you like the result (Look) or not.
Nerdie Neutral Newbie March 2, 2006 Share March 2, 2006 Heh ok I had the Klasse mobile dudes come by today to do one application for me and learn from them at the same time.. I must say it was quite beneficial for a newbie like me who didn't know what the hell a claybar was for in the first place.. Thumbs up for newbies! Nerdie Neutral Newbie March 2, 2006 Share March 2, 2006 Can i ask if it's advisable to wax after putting on the Sealant? I see some people doing it, will wax remove the sealant?
Halth Neutral Newbie March 2, 2006 Share March 2, 2006 After reading much about klasse here and around, decided to give it a try. Had them come over and did my the car in the morning. Bought the Starter Kit as well. As Marcos actually advised, I wanted to put on 2 to 3 more layers of the SG. Just tried it on 3 panels after a 12 hr break from the first application. However I felt that it's not as smooth as the side that was applied by the pros. Anyone faced this problem. What I did was washed it, and then used an applicator pad which I had sprayed on the SG. Waiting for awhile, I went ahead to wiped it off. I was wondering therefore did I wiped it off too hard? Is that why its not as smooth? Any ideas from the pros here? Marcostan 4th Gear March 2, 2006 Share March 2, 2006 Nerdie, Wax over sealant, this is all personnel perference. Some like it some don't. PURE wax will not remove the sealant so it's safe to use it. But take note the wax must not contain any cleaner it shall be a pure wax. Otherwise, it shall remove the sealant.
Marcostan 4th Gear March 2, 2006 Share March 2, 2006 Halth, Here's one of the best method to apply the AIO & SG : In order to apply SG using wipe on, wipe off, you should do the following: 1. Take a terry covered foam applicator and spray it with water. I initially recommended spraying the applicatior with a non-carnuba QD or water. I've changed my mind about this. Just stick to good old tap water. Too many different QD's out there that give different results. Squeeze the applicator as much as you can so that most of the water is gone. All you should have is a slightly damp applicator. This will make the SG more pliable. 2. Apply a couple of drops of SG to your applicator and apply it to a section of your car (1/3 of the hood, half of the roof, etc) in a front to back motion. Once you have covered the whole section with SG, immediately wipe off the residue with a DRY charisma or MF towel in a front to back motion. 3. Repeat step 2 for every section until the whole car is done. Notes: - As mentioned before, wipe the SG off immediately, no dry time is necessary. - The SG should wipe off very easily leaving behind a slick, smooth, and glossy finish. - You should use no more than 1oz. of SG per coat on a regular size car (BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class) - Only perform step 1 one time, before applying SG to the first panel. You do NOT need to spritz your applicator with water before applying SG to each section. Once you apply SG to a couple of sections the applicator will be wet enough with SG, negating the need for more water. -Do not use any water or QD to aid in removal of SG. This will just cause the klasse SG to develop an oily haze/film down the road. I've also experienced this. -Wait AT LEAST 12 hours before applying another coat of SG. SG needs time to cure and bond to your paint surface. I would personally wait a week. If you've driven the car ANYWHERE, then wash it before applying the next layer, or else you will just re-swirl your car. -Put on three coats of SG, and you will be good to go. -If you desire more warmth and depth in your paint, then apply a pure carnuba wax (no cleaner waxes) a week after you ↡ Advertisement
