Macross1 Neutral Newbie April 24, 2008 Share April 24, 2008 Honestly I don't mind. I don't have much of a life anyway.. lol. Even with a degree, you think can make 10k? Maybe after many donkey years in the field. How much is a starting pay with a degree? Even less than 3k. Especially in the field I'm studying. That's why I am seriously thinking about selling cars, insurace or houses after I grad. Just take degree for back-up.
Eyke Supercharged April 24, 2008 Share April 24, 2008 my advice to you if you want to do sales, go for banking. besides performance-based bonus, the established ones get 5-figure monthly salary. much better than selling cars. for passive-income, can go for property or insurance as they have over-riding for managers. Macross1 Neutral Newbie April 24, 2008 Share April 24, 2008 Thanks for the tip man. Going through quarter life crisis... really evaluating what I should do with my life now. Should I continue with my studies or work. The option to work is becoming ever more tempting seeing how SEs make such good money. In fact, alot of jobs don't require a degree to make good money. Part of me also sianz ji bua, don't feel like studying liao. lol.

Garlic 1st Gear April 24, 2008 Share April 24, 2008 My dad's SE @ Nissan has a double degree from NUS, quite taken aback when she passed us her name card, very SYT as well. Recommended friends to her but she left after awhile, was told by other SEs she left to continue her studies.
Chrispie 5th Gear April 24, 2008 Author Share April 24, 2008 What for I study so hard for a degree? KNS, I also want to go sell car liao. it's not so easy. your weekends mostly all burnt, owners will call you at all hours for anything that goes wrong (imaginary or not), your relationships suffer for your lack of time, etc. and if your luck no good for a particular month or quarter (depending on which dealer), and you don't hit your sales quota, out you go! and where can you go after that? From what i gather, many of them do get quite a few off days each week during weekdays..(to enjoy the money.. without the crowd!). And if Honda can sell 2000 cars a month, and say 1000 is sold by Parallel Importer, and KAH has 50 SE, each SE still rake in 20 cars a mth. Say if its 500/car on car alone (excl loan commission etc), they can still make 10K easily.... OMG!!

Quarter life crisis.. i went thru that too.. studied Architecture and realised its lousy money.. practiced for less than a year and left to do other things here and there, part time and 'sometime' basis.. always lookg for opportunity in any other things... Its a risk. coz every year counts..and you get insecure as you see your frends starting to make 3k 4k 5k and im struggling with jz 2k of unstable income... key is to keep looking and hang on..Always tell myself : What im doing may be unstable, but the potential is limitless. Between Freedom and security, if you choose security, you lose both. Now... when i see my peers.. im glad i took the road less traveled... Raven Neutral Newbie April 24, 2008 Share April 24, 2008 Not surprising. You can roughly know how much PM make for each car they sold. . I always thought that SE were paid between $50 - $200 per cars, long hours, weekend burnt, get calls here and there; So never entertain this thought. Now come to think of it; I should sell cars rather than doing part-time delivery to pay my debts..... Any lobang for me.....
Mzrmazda3 6th Gear April 24, 2008 Share April 24, 2008 (edited) Don't be surprise Bro Some of these sales personnel's monthly is even much higher than the annual earning of a person who earn 2K per month Edited April 24, 2008 by Mzrmazda3
Mzrmazda3 6th Gear April 24, 2008 Share April 24, 2008 SE make $$ when they ... - sell you their car - trade in your old car - arrange loan - arrange insurance so what do u think..? Basically, everything that they do for the buyer is 'Tan Lui' one ↡ Advertisement
