Idsi Neutral Newbie April 27, 2008 Share April 27, 2008 in times like this - fuel efficiency might be on the top of the list for many people. perhaps you like to share what the fuel efficiency of your car is like. add your car to the list as follows: , , ps1 - only those using petrol lah. no the cng+petrol combo. ps2 - i'll love to see the actual fuel efficiency for cars like WISH, STREAM, MADZA5 etc. Honda City iDSi 2007 1.5 Auto 15+ km/l 60% City 40% Highway light footed in city driving. Crusing at 80-90 km/h on highway use Caltex Techron 95 Car in stock conditions. 15" rims from KM

Hoppe Clutched April 27, 2008 Share April 27, 2008 swiftee, why is ur sport consuming less than most of our other swifts? Need ur advice on how to save petrol.
Swiftie Neutral Newbie April 27, 2008 Share April 27, 2008 (edited) I think the most important thing is to learn how to view the fuel gauge in the swifts frequently while driving. I will always accelerate to the speed I want to travel at on the expressways (ie. 100 - 110km/h)as fast as possible and then maintain at that speed while monitoring the fuel gauge. The estimated fuel consumption readings on a manual sss (stock) should be ard 14km/h if u just hold ur foot firmly on the accelerator. However, if u know how to let the inertia of the car do the job at speeds above 100km/h, u will actually save more fuel than travelling at 90km/h without this technique. Case in point: I can travel from KJE all the way to NTU (pioneer rd exit) at 100 to 110km/h with my fuel consumption readings at at least 16km/L. So i guess its pretty much ur right foot and ur level of situational aw3areness to analyse the road conditions ahead that matters. One thing to add though. My aircon is always at 26 degrees no matter how hot the weather is. Hope this helps. Edited April 27, 2008 by Swiftie

Ecaf Neutral Newbie April 27, 2008 Share April 27, 2008 Great tip It's always important to be aware of your road situations. Overtake when you can, and not when you want. This will prevent you from flooring the acc just to keep in pace with the car behind you after you switch lanes.

Friendstar Supercharged April 28, 2008 Share April 28, 2008 Kelisa is really the car to buy.... For such a small car, I'd expect this kind of FC, give or take 1-2km/l. But I still find that the Vios seems to have the best combination of space, FC & performance. It's spirited enough for a spot of hard-driving when one desires, and the light body helps the FC when driving normally point A to point B. Plus it has a proper boot. but i cant accept made in thailand vios...

Oneguy 1st Gear April 28, 2008 Author Share April 28, 2008 i think this ia a good thread for those that maybe considering a new purchase. these figures are from actual owners/drivers of the cars, not some numbers plucked from the sales brochure. considering that fuel prices seems destined to only go in one direction (UP), FCs will play a bigger role in the consideration for that new purchase, especially if you are a heavy user i.e. like me, the driver of the family, clocking like 400-500KM a week looking at the replies - i'm kinda surprised to see the results from the toyota camry and wish - very nice FCs. looking to see more FCs, keep them coming :)

Watwheels Supersonic April 28, 2008 Share April 28, 2008 If u have noticed on the MCF homepage there's a MCF feature on fuel consumption on the left of the webpage contributed by the forumers in MCF.
