A TEENAGE mother who forcibly pulled two teeth out from an Indonesian maid's gums was jailed a total of 26 months on Tuesday.

 

Nur Rizan Mohd Sazali, 18, admitted forcibly extracting Ms Badingah's teeth and pouring hot wax on her head between June 2 and July 26 last year.

Her brother, Muhammad Iz'aan Mohd Sazali, 20, was given six weeks for using a cane to hit the back of the victim's legs.

 

The two siblings and their mother, Maselly Abdul Aziz, 38, were living at the Jalan Minyak flat with Maselly's friend, Elsa Elyana Said, 24, the maid's employer.

 

Maselly, who initially pleaded guilty to two maid abuse charges and a Ministry of Manpower summons charge, had her plea rejected by District Judge Jill Tan.

 

She had flipped-flopped after the statement of facts was read by the prosecution. She claimed the facts did not tell the whole story.

 

Elsa, who is self-employed, will be sentenced next month for punching the maid and abetting Nur Rizan to forcibly extract the victim's teeth.

 

Deputy Public Prosecutor Natalie Morris said the family and Elsa began abusing Ms Badingah after suspecting her of stealing money and other small valuables.

 

The maid denied stealing but none of the accused persons believed her.

 

The court heard that the victim was punished and was ordered to stand facing the door the whole night, lift her leg up and hold her ears.

When she put her leg down, she was caned by Iz'aan.

 

Rizan also tied the wrists of the victim with a bathrobe sash and poured boiling wax on her head and back after she and her brother accused her of stealing their cellphones.

 

The prosecution urged the court to impose deterrent sentences for the severe abuses inflicted on the victim on many separate occasions.

'The victim was subject to systematic cruelty, to a campaign of, not only abuse, but cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment and punishment, amounting to torture,' said DPP Morris.

I think they must b mistaken.. she is practising to be a dentist. Must b her lifelong ambition. They sud send her for proper training on u know.... not jail her.

while i certainly do not condone the abuse, i can understand the frustration of having a pilfering maid (allegedly).

 

had one kicked out after finding out our valuables gradually missing... things with low financial value but great emotional value.... maid of course denies 100%, swore in God's name, etc but only when stuff found in her belongings did she admit. Almost gave her a roundhouse kick to the head but managed self-restraint until the agent came to pick her up. Worst part was after she left did we realise she took so much more than we suspected.

i did the same with the 1st maid hired to looked after my FIL, helped herself to $1k plus on top of the loan she took without repayg my FIL.

sure we can do tat,condemn her all e way. but doubt many will do tat for a simple reason. I tink during tat period of investigation, u as a maid employer still ve to pay for her levy....tats sing law 4 u

Yeah, I know how you feel. No choice, my kids were very young then.

Further more, no privacy. No more maids for me now, my kids are big now

and they help out with the housework.

 

Had one also, married, but started giving the FTs in my block the eye.
