Miles 4th Gear September 21, 2008 Share September 21, 2008 Yup, the entire KPE can be cleared in about 10 mins under normal traffic condition. Rush hour traffic is another matter. But this expressway opens up another possiblity for drivers who had to rely on either CTE or Marymount Rd. I think the KPE will detour considerable traffic from CTE since it is still free.... many CTE users will take a slightly longer route to use the KPE to cut cost and cut travelling time as well. The worse part which will be hit tomorrow will be 1. PIE exit and 2. ECP exit.... CTE should be rather clear tomorrow. ↡ Advertisement
Wanderer Clutched September 21, 2008 Share September 21, 2008 Ya..... very bumpy even when travelling at 70km/h. Perhaps this is 1 of the reasons u have to travel at this speed. Travel any faster and ur car will jump around like nobody's biz!
Dafansu Turbocharged September 21, 2008 Share September 21, 2008 maybe they purposely make it bumpy so that u will drive slowly
Kwchan 1st Gear September 21, 2008 Share September 21, 2008 i wonder if they are going to build another exit/entrance from Punggol road to TPE. Currently I need to make 1 big round to reach TPE, cos my block is at the other end of punggol.
Dafansu Turbocharged September 21, 2008 Share September 21, 2008 not for now cause they are building one at sengkang area just after punggol east
Soho 4th Gear September 21, 2008 Share September 21, 2008 ya.. v bumpy .. i just came back from there.. there was this police wrx there just now.. and everyone was really gg at 70. it was following us throughout... once out of kpe.. i saw the 80km/h sign and i accelerate to 80.. then the tp about 2 car behind me suddenly on flash light without sound. then it accelerated beside me.. then the 2 police inside stared at me.. fearing anything happen to me, i just decelerate to 70km/h.. then it stayed beside me till i exit tpe.. weird.. i saw the 80km/h sign.. or maybe cause i was carrying 4 ppl behind??? Kwchan 1st Gear September 21, 2008 Share September 21, 2008 may be because u are using upsized rims/tyre with bigger rolling radius than stock. Thus when your speedo shows 80km/h, it is already 90km/h time to make use of the speed display at simei PIE entrance to test out your speed
Soho 4th Gear September 21, 2008 Share September 21, 2008 lol... nsh... my car super stock... even rims r stock.. only thing is a fake exos tip.. haha... the tp slowed down till 60 when beside me and keep stare at me.. then i follow lor... bo bian... Nhrisuzu 1st Gear September 22, 2008 Share September 22, 2008 Looking at the 70km/h limit, it will take me longer than my usual ECP route to go work.. An expressway at 70km/h? Simi lan.. yesterday drove from Punggol towards ECP.. 70kmh on that stretch can drive one crazy.. cars want to overtake.. but "max out" at 70kmh.. Magfocus 5th Gear September 22, 2008 Share September 22, 2008 Totally agree. Took that way for fun yesterday, almost went nuts at 70kmh I think I'll stick to the ECP
Dafansu Turbocharged September 22, 2008 Share September 22, 2008 think very soon they will increase to
Sfhuang Clutched September 22, 2008 Share September 22, 2008 I've been driving along KPE ever since the ECP-PIE stretch opened. Actually the speed limit is not hard-wired to 70 km/h ... if you get what I mean.
Magfocus 5th Gear September 22, 2008 Share September 22, 2008 They will?
Magfocus 5th Gear September 22, 2008 Share September 22, 2008 I had to set the cruise control for the whole stretch...controlling that speed is just too painful for the legs Which parts...
Dafansu Turbocharged September 22, 2008 Share September 22, 2008 for a start they wanna play safe. after sometimes when most drivers have familiarised with the route they will consider increasing the limit
