Has a pot-luck dinner tomorrow and suppose to bring a chicken dish. Now scratching my head. [confused]

Appreciate suggestions on what and where to buy. Pls exclude curry cos someone else is preparing. Hopefully cost less than $40. Thank you very much. [flowerface]

How about roasting a chicken if you have an oven? Loads of such recipes on the web.

Or if you prefer a Chinese chicken dish, how about mah yew ji?

Some sesame oil into the pan. Heat up. Throw in slices of ginger. Fry till fragrant. Add in chicken wing/drumstick/parts. stir fry it. Add some oyster sauce and soy sauce to taste. Lastly, don't forget put in some hua diao jiu for that zi xhar flavour. Can add some dried chilli bits together with the ginger if you want some bite.

Above recipe is from memory. May not be totally correct. [lipsrsealed]

Thanks all for the ideas.

I would prefer to buy the dish 'cos I can't cook. Don't want to experiment and risk the folks' taste buds and stomach. Any place to recommend where to buy?

The prawn paste chicken at HK Street zhi char is good. But quality at different branches may differ. I was told the AV main branch one is good.
