Hiphiphoray 6th Gear February 6, 2009 Share February 6, 2009 I doubt so. Somethings die die wont change. Such as reinstating employer's 20% contribution and lowering the 7% GST. Kena TOTO 1st prize got more chance rah. haha.

COE quota "review" every year, with 6 monthly adjustment. Dun know if there is a review of the transport policy this year. Thot a policy paper was done 1 or 2 years back? Drumstick Clutched February 6, 2009 Share February 6, 2009 Quite unlikely to happen. Its a great source of income for them. At the same time they have been thinking of charging drivers according to usage.
Osiris 1st Gear February 6, 2009 Share February 6, 2009 i think the half day coupon is a good idea but i seriously doubt that will happen simply because its so hard to enforce.
Picanto 3rd Gear February 6, 2009 Author Share February 6, 2009 Quite unlikely to happen. Its a great source of income for them. At the same time they have been thinking of charging drivers according to usage. there were many letters to the press asking for review of the OPC rule. i think all the suggestions will keep in the rubbish bin. at the same time, if the rule is changed to favour OPC, normal plate car owners will more or less feel 'buay song'. Friendstar Supercharged February 6, 2009 Share February 6, 2009 yes i agree. OPC scheme will never be changed. they'll have to answer to the normal car users. and they'll have to revise the 17k rebate. then people who just bought the car using the 17k rebate will gain, new ones will comprain... etc
Jazz 2nd Gear February 6, 2009 Share February 6, 2009 If really enforce new rule, think I also want to jump ship to OPC liao.

That will depend on you know who. Now we all know that he had promoted from a fruit to a prata, he can take back whatever was said and drop a bombshell. "You pr*cks like to call me Lemon. Tatkoon Neutral Newbie February 6, 2009 Share February 6, 2009 aiyah, when you buy OPC you already know the rules & regulations. Now want to change the rules & regulations to benefit themselves?
Nhyone 4th Gear February 6, 2009 Share February 6, 2009 Half day coupon good idea? Not for LTA. Go to work at 9am. Pay $10. Leave at 7pm. No need to pay. You just halved your cost. You think LTA doesn't know? LTA has slowly reduced ARF and road tax in the past few years. Plus the lower COE, there's fewer and fewer reasons to choose OPC cars now. Daryl76 Neutral Newbie February 6, 2009 Share February 6, 2009 when i used to drive OPC.. together as a car forum, we wrote for a review on this issue LTA replied tat they will only 'review' this the next time they have a major general meeting, chances of this going through is slim.. You think LTA doesn't know? LTA has slowly reduced ARF and road tax in the past few years. I think unlikely. I'm hoping for much lowered road tax instead, which is probably something that they can do with ease. Regards,

Twofouronenite 1st Gear February 7, 2009 Share February 7, 2009 Dun think there'll be any changes to the current OPC system. Shld the peak hour of traffic in Sunday increases then can the system be change to include Sundays? Dun think the garhmen need to response to certain group of normal car users as well or I shld correct it to Normal plate car user as all car users are normal minus a few cuckoo!! Kelpie 2nd Gear February 7, 2009 Share February 7, 2009 the road tax has just been lowered last year. dun think it will go lower this year. Actually reduction of road tax or abolishing it may help the car industry to a certain extent. Like what they mentioned earlier, ERP will be the one used eventually to "tax" you.
