Orangepineapple Clutched March 22, 2009 Share March 22, 2009 Hi bros and sis, A newbie car owner here. Just went for my first car inspection at Viccom last weekend and to my horror, my ride failed the test. for info, the wheel alignment and the headlights fail. I have no idea how it is possible as i did not do any mods to the car, especially not to the headlights! any bros and sis got any ideas how this is possible? will normal day to day driving cause the alignment and headlights to fail? also, whats the market rate nowadays to re-align the wheels? I was quoted $100.. fair? thanks very much ↡ Advertisement
Ev0lutionz Clutched March 22, 2009 Share March 22, 2009 Working at a workshop now and i think they use some machine to check your wheel alignment and they use a spanner to fix something near the cv joints of your car. Less than 100 i think.

Jl1500k Clutched March 22, 2009 Share March 22, 2009 Better send for workshop servicing before go for inspection. Workshop pp can send in for you if you request. They can rectify on the spot for minor problem. Otherwise you have to waste money to resent for inspection again.
Spinworkx Clutched March 22, 2009 Share March 22, 2009 Failing of headlights is very common because many time, when the the car comes from the factory, they don't adjust the lights and just install it as it is and most of the time, the left and right won't match... You can either adjust it yourself (al lights will have 2 nuts inside to adjust up/down or left/right) or get a workshop to do for you since warrenty is over already.. Jerry Clutched March 22, 2009 Share March 22, 2009 My advice is go to STA for inspection instead. Most of friends went to vicom and failed but when they try STA,they passed. Maybe vicom is more strict.
Try_conti 2nd Gear March 22, 2009 Share March 22, 2009 you just bought it second hand or what ? new cars don't need to send for inspection unless its going into its 4th year.
Fitvip Supersonic March 22, 2009 Share March 22, 2009 If only head lamps fail, the overall result will still pass. But if the brake lights or turn indicators fail, then sorry lah. Of course once alignment fails, it fails all!

Zeus73 Neutral Newbie March 22, 2009 Share March 22, 2009 Err... Does your ride still have warranty??? My ride has been serviced at C&C... Just went for inspection last Friday after servicing... When I send in for servicing, I told them I'll be going for inspection later... And they did a pre-check on those inspection items... Anyway, my inspection was a pass... After some waiting at Vicom Bukit Batok for the Cert... Saw the guy staring at the computer screen like some abnormal figures appear in his screen... If fail, I will just drive back to C&C and claim the re-test fee from them...
