Playtime Twincharged June 24, 2015 Share June 24, 2015 Isn't the Tan Chong in house solar film Ultramax? It is their own brand. See link below: http://umsolarfilm.com/ If you install their solar film, it is covered under insurance and they will repaste the film if you do a windscreen replacement. If you install other films, then not covered and you gotta pay money to redo your film if you change windscreen. Happened to me. Btw, the signature bodykit is not original nissan kit. So effectively you are paying about $2000 more for nonoriginal bodykit + value of the stock factory kit that is not returned to you. If you prefer something different and keen to put in some efforts, can save the $2000 and install your own. Examples are Activus or impul for Sylphy B17. The ultramax IRR also bout 65% only? ↡ Advertisement
BobbyTan_74287 4th Gear June 24, 2015 Share June 24, 2015 Keyless start / stop: When the car is stopped, I cannot even turn on the radio or audio system. I could do so only when the car was turned on. Is this a shortcoming on cars with Keyless start/stop? Is there an alternate way? During the first time when I am collecting my car, the first thing my SE showed me is how to turn on the radio without starting the engine. She said just press the "start/stop" button without stepping on the brake. She also tuned all the radio channels for me and so up to now I did not tune or change any channel. Zaini1 1st Gear June 24, 2015 Share June 24, 2015 Any recommendation for solar films? Cos in house is free. .. outside must pay hahaha Yup, its free. Haha! Though, there was a forummer here who said that he asked from his SE for a "refund" and not to install the solar film. He topped it up and got a better film from outside. There are top ones like 3M, Huper Optik etc known to be the costliest. You can get at a slightly lower price for other brands advertised here in the forum but said to be just as good if not better. Have always wanted to get a blue solar film. Still sourcing for one, yet to find a suitable one.
Columbian78 6th Gear June 24, 2015 Share June 24, 2015 (edited) My short summary is to just take Tan Chong's in house film cos it is very decent (not my experience but shared by forummers) and there are benefits in insurance coverage and convenience of installation. I opted out of Tan Chong's film and got back $200 rebate. I currently have Infratint in the front 3 panels and 3M at the back 3 panels. Why it ended up so complicated is a long story I will not elaborate here. Both are the top grade products from the brands, with >90% IRR and tx within LTA allowances. Both have their pros and cons in terms of product and service. Generally I would say Infratint is better at heat rejection. If you go to their showroom, they will demo to you with an infra red lamp shining thru diff films and you feel with your bare hand. Columbian, May I ask did u pay like about $400 each for the front Infratint film and back 3M film? Dunno if it can get such a price for >90%IRR ... Columbian78 6th Gear June 24, 2015 Share June 24, 2015 Off the top of my head, it was about 800+ and 700+ for full car installation for the 3M and Infratint I installed, respectively. I will try to post the details later when I have access to my receipts. Columbian, May I ask did u pay like about $400 each for the front Infratint film and back 3M film? I didn't go for the signature model myself so didn't test. Edited June 24, 2015 by Playtime

The part where the front cam is attached is also starting to peel off... Other panels are ok though. Anyone else has similar experiences? This is the only issue i have with my sylphy so far. Solar Film usually outsourced to the supplier. You should have the warranty from the supplier on the peeling and bubble issues. Tell TC also little they can do cause it's not a TC or factory installed.

Similar issues with my ride. Told TC, they say if want to check and redo, need go Lok Yang. Because there they got the contractor for solar films. If you drop off your car at Ubi or Lengkee, they need to drive your car to Lok Yang. So its like your choice. Btw, heard redo solar film is a one day job. ↡ Advertisement
