We know that the normal shock absorber from the rack is black be it shiny or matt. I would like to check on the consumer's buying behaviour, omitting the quality standard of the product, will one install greyish silver (Like MRT body colour) coloured shock absorber to their car?

It would be helpful if you could include some explanation/elaboration on your vote.

Many thanks.

You owe us quite a bit of explanation bro.

By off the rack do you mean stock absorbers? If they are stock I'm sure quite a number of people have no idea what color they are supposed to be.

Do you mean aftermarket absorbers? If that's the case there are 2 things to look at. Do the garages display the products on shelves? If yes, then maybe, maybe the color will be an issue. If not, wouldn't it boil down to branding? I mean if HKS is using murky (think diarrhea) color for shocks, I would still get it.

Thanks for the reply bro. Yeah.. I am refering to aftermarket ones but the main thing in-question is the colour. Stock and most of the aftermarket ones are all black. I would like to omit brand name and focus only on the colour of the product. Considering this unique colour, will you put the product onto your car?

erm...most shocks would turn black from road dust after prolonged periods of regular usage.

if you are to be concerned it should be the color of the springs. my fronts are red and rears are yellow. i couldnt be bothered as anyone who tries to take a peek under the car at my springs are either my friends or someone who's about to get a bloody nose.

I would not buy shock absorbers based on colour. I would only buy them based on merit and costs.

Boss, aftermarket also has brands that doesn't serve the performance sector. Eg. KYB, Tokico, Gabriel, Sach, Boge, TRW, Meyle, Mobis, etc etc just to name a few... and all these have black coloured dampers.
