Tjkbeluga 5th Gear November 24, 2009 Share November 24, 2009 NZ sounds like a PR heaven Good thing about NZ PR is once you get it, you can have it for life if I'm not mistaken... Unlike OZ PR, you need to meet certain criteria each time you renew every 5 yearly....

Hotisland Neutral Newbie November 24, 2009 Share November 24, 2009 (edited) Btw, is there any other country except SG where I can go to as a PR to enjoy the benefits of citizenship without all the responsibilities? I'll like that. Our dear govt has shown us that it's actually good to be a PR in a foreign land, so maybe we need to rethink about living in SG as citizens, we should be aiming to be PRs in greener pastures. What about Australia? In fact sg citizens are enjoying much more than PRs. e.g. hdb allowance (of different kind), rights to buy new hdb, baby bonus, more childcare leave, more subsidization in terms of medical bill/shcool fee/medisave/etc., cheap maid levy, redpack given by gov once in a while... just to name a few. On the contrary, Australia PRs enjoy every single priviledge that citizens can enjoy except the voting right. Silver_blade Turbocharged November 24, 2009 Share November 24, 2009 lol got changi tree? i am born here and grow here and dont even know that.. At least 1 expat got it right. "apparently they are all named after the Changi tree which grew there until they chopped it down so that the Japanese couldn't use it as a target for their bombs in the war. The tree was something like 250ft high and stuck out like a sore thumb, perfectly marking the area of the base! "
