Topgun Neutral Newbie April 2, 2010 Share April 2, 2010 OK, taking your input in consideration. Will monitor my 'endurance' runs. I'm concerned cos just as for interest and achievement, I would still want to train and run the stanchart marathon this year. I've set my target of 4hrs 45 to 5 hrs for it. So that's why I'm concerned of my 'lack of energy' even for 30min runs. Imagine I need to start building up the long runs soon... Ya, skunk & CBS, where can I get bone marrow? Besides eating soup tulang every other day!! ↡ Advertisement
Skunk Clutched April 2, 2010 Share April 2, 2010 yesterday went to Sengkang Polyclinic for the jaundice check for my 2nd daughter. Saw a large poster, "Diabetes may cause blindness!" and in the glass display case, "avoid fats, especially saturated fats." I think more people might be going blind LOL. Besides eating soup tulang every other day!! If you're training for a marathon, then I suppose you have a legit concern. My own mom keeps asking me whether I'm sure the fat thing is really healthy cos her friends and my aunts keep telling her she's eating herself to an early death and that newspapers keeps telling people to eat less fat. Sigh... I always ask her how many meds was she on before and how many meds is she on now. How fat was she before and what is her body composition now. What was her blood pressure before and what's her BP now. Does she feel like sleeping after every meal nowadays... Only then will she see. Luckily my dad is just simply enjoying his food and the health benefits that come along with it.

Skunk Clutched April 2, 2010 Share April 2, 2010 4 mths into tis ordeal. is this diet very hard for u? I think it can only be sustainable if u enjoy it. So far the only painful parts are giving up ice-cream and chendol :( but the longer time passes from the last time i ate them, the less i miss them. In fact i think i only have a vague memory of how they taste like LOL

Don't really miss them, except for my nonya kueh... Rice and bread and pasta and noodles are already totally out of my consciousness. Like rat poison to me. Chickenbackside 1st Gear April 2, 2010 Share April 2, 2010 (edited) so carbo=sugar?? another choice for cheating day , .........................its worth it thou Thought you knew that by now! Carbs are simple sugars joined together. Once your saliva touches it (carbs that is), it breaks down into simple sugars. That's why we emphasize on a low carb lifestyle, which is essentially a low sugar lifestyle, which is exactly what diabetes sufferers need to do. Xtrocious 1st Gear April 3, 2010 Share April 3, 2010 I know u said it in jest lol but i'm gonna give u a serious answer hehe Singaporeans are so used to crap food and they willingly will choose crap food over whole foods, so such a restaurant is doomed to either outright failure or very low profitability. The hawker centre under my block serves such crap food, i remarked to my wife, i won't even feed my dogs with the food, yet everyday there are long queues. Even some of the "famous" hawkers or restaurants, the moment i eat the food, i know it's the sugar inside that attracts. I see the long queues of people, like long queues of drug addicts, going for their sugar/carb fix. No, I meant it and it's not in jest It's almost impossible for find food like that outside We place convenience over quality very often... Just like during a typical work week, we just grab a quick bite to fill our tummies so that we can rush to meet whatever deadlines and headlines that we need to meet... They say stress is the biggest killer but it could well be these "quick bites" we stuff ourselves every day that is killing us slowly but surely... ↡ Advertisement
