Littleknown Clutched October 19, 2011 Share October 19, 2011 While i did say that money is better spent elsewhere a ring or a memorable item is definitely better than just meaningless money. unless you really keep the coke can ring and bring it out after 20 years to admire and reminisce, you are begining to sound just like 90% of most singapore women... always about the money money money.... "She" does not write like a woman. A guy pretending to be one or hoping to be one perhaps.

Less exposure to technology's probably the cause. The girl that always does my massage when I was there for work is married with kid and only goes home once every 6mths or more. Oh... and she's only 26!!! Looks a little like Elva too.... Edited October 20, 2011 by Strudel-

Ya true, we should not assume all china girls are ktv girls and yes these ktv girls are very cunning and cheated men of alot of money, one good thing about china girls is that they don't seem to mind to stay with parents as it is quite common within their culture to stay with in laws whereas my local girls would demand a unit at marina bay residences... Give you a Hokkien quote from my fren: "Want to enjoy, must accept" You want pretty, good figure, good in bed => Prepare to spend more money on her material needs. There are many local girls who do not demand a unit at marina bay residences. Assuming half the population in SG in woman and only 1% is pretty, good figure, good character, not materialistic and not married. There are a total of 259,000 local girls up for grab. Have you dated more than 12950 local girls? It is always easy to use words like "generally", "commonly", "majority" loosely with no thinking about the actual figures. Pioneer 4th Gear October 20, 2011 Share October 20, 2011 "She" does not write like a woman. A guy pretending to be one or hoping to be one perhaps. There are girls who find diamond ring waste of money. My wife-to-be is one of them. I have to force her to buy a bigger one. Give you one example: We went to one of the jewellery shops: Salesgirl approached us, give the usual sales pitch. Talk about the 4 Cs, talk about trade in/upgrading packages. My wife-to-be keep saying to me, this too big, that too expensive. The salesgirl then ask for my opinion. I told her that my wife-to-be will decide what she wants. The sales girl than said: "Are you sure? Wait she want the most expensive ring" I look at the salesgirl and then I smiled. In the end, my wife-to-be want something smaller than that ones I have chosen initially. The salesgirl have the LL look on her. I can never understand the idea of upgrading your wedding ring Woman keep stressing that wedding is one in a life time and should be as grand as nice as possible. Yet the memento -> Wedding ring, they will to change to another one, albeit bigger, but not the one that they got during the marriage. If diamond ring can trade in and upgrade, then wife should also can trade in and upgrade!

Strudel- 1st Gear October 20, 2011 Share October 20, 2011 Trading in is very common these days with those retail brands. I already know of 2 friends that opt for that. Personally I take the same view as the 2 above. The ring should be a special thing and should never be replaced. But someone figured that most humans are greedy and tend to give in to what is more "practical" rather than sticking with certain values, which is why this will sell. I tend to disagree theres nothing wrong with getting a more expensive car with wife's contribution. Arent you suppose to share everything? Of course that's assuming the wife is a willing party too. In case you're wondering, I paid for my own car and her parents paid for hers. A good wife will probably think more for the husband. If you were to give her a choice for the ring, I'd said it'll probably be like 2k-5k range (not something astronomical). But then again, everyone's financial situation and mentality is different. The ring I got is only slightly more than half of my monthly salary.

My personal take is the car is the duty of the head of the family inthis case, me the man. So i foot the bill especially when it is to get a premium conti high range. People like Ithunk thinks that only when couple share then can buy. Husband only cant afford

In the first place, why need a bigger wedding ring? It's just a band isn't it? I thought the size of the band is limited by the size of the finger? Or is it that people mean their wife finger become fatter (typical case...most women became fatter after marriage)..hence need a bigger band?
