Unable to move whether light is red or green

Every morning, there is a queue of cars waiting to turn left from Jurong West Ave 2 to Corporation road.

When the traffic light is red, the queue cannot move because cars turn in from the opposite side. This is expected.

When the traffic light is green, the queue still cannot move because cars bypass the left-turn slip road and turn in from the junction instead.

Well done, folks!

Guess what, I'm going to spoil your party and write in to Traffic Police. This is a $70 donation if I'm not wrong -- making a left-turn where not allowed. Edited by Nhyone

post-65725-1271301794_thumb.jpg Same here at this junction every morning, vehicles illegally turning left from Boon Lay Way into Jurong East St 11 near IMM/IBP area. Sometimes I keep asking myself, why should I follow the rule but the rest are not. Am I stupid??? [hur]

I have feedback to TP about the situation. I also gave another feedback:

Title: one person can cause a traffic jam

A truck parks on the 3rd lane of the busy 3-lane Pioneer North road every morning. As a result, it causes cars to merge to the 2nd lane and causes the speed to drop by 3x at least! Merging lanes are very slow.

Now, the truck could be unloading, which is allowed on a double-yellow line, but it is still a very inconsiderate behaviour. Plus, loading/unloading implies an immediate short action, not something that takes over 5 minutes.

I would like Traffic Police to come and observe this for themselves.

Call me a spoilsport, but I have enough of inconsiderate behaviours that cause our roads to jam up needlessly.

How about this situation?

In the morning along Kallang Road toward City, whenever LTA places an officer in front of Indian Temple (Opp Pico Art), lane 3 will jam from ICA junction to Kallang River Bridge. The traffic is smooth like butter when the office is not standing there. Where shall i give my feedback??

Complain to LTA la

Add bus lane - Small jam

Add bus lane + office - Big jam

No bus lane, no office - no jam at all. [idea]

but be prepared for backfire. they may say:

No bus lane. no office - mother of all jam. [whip]

The issue is got LTA officer to catch bus lane offender = BIG JAM

NO LTA officer to catch bus lane offender = NO JAM

Wif BIG JAM, traffic will reduce substantially & can increase ERP charges.

Traffic police slack over the years.

The new road behaviour is changing very fast, expecially with the new Foreign dervers on the road, bringing with them their country style of driving. I have changed my driving style to suit these rude and impatient and dangerous drivers too.

1) More infarction happens everyday, turning left at traffic junction, instead of using the left filtering lane.

2) Cutting into a left/right turning lane at the very last meters, so as to gain position from those who religiously queue up. Mind you, if it happen for someone who use that road the first time, its excusable, but during the morning rush hours....these jokers are daily users of the road and purposely want to cut their own waiting time while ignoring the rest who queue up patiently.

Dude, I've driven in more than 10 countries worldwide. IMHO, Indonesia and China have the worst drivers, and sad to say, Singapore has the 2nd worst.

Just because there're more cars on the road nowadays compared to 10 yrs ago, do not assume that those bad drivers are foreigners. Most road hoggers and speedsters I've encountered look like Singaporeans to me.

Supercharged

So far, those rude ones I've encountered are locals, made up of taxi drivers or van or lorries or normal passenger cars. In fact today a lorry driven by what seems to be a "foreign driver" is so courteous as to let me pass by sticking his hand out and waving me to let me pass 1st. Yesterday a "foreign driver" let me enter my vehicle before coming out of his lorry and he greeted me. I always read those anti-FT posts with a pinch of salt.
