Renegade777 5th Gear June 8, 2011 Share June 8, 2011 let me explain in simple english for every car manufacturer, they will have low end and top of the line cars low end cars are impreza/civic/lancer/etc top of the line are a6/bmw 7 series/accord/teana/camry k5 belongs to top of the line if you see it on the roads more than you see fortes, then k5 is a failure understand now? if you still don't get it, go google product market positioning and learn i'm not a marketting executive but i know simple common sense, can't say the same thing about you though You are wrong again and I don't know where your common sense is leading you. Simple comparison. Honda Accord, Nissan Teana, Toyota Camry etc are not top of the line. Honda still have higher, topline range like Honda Legend, Toyota still have Crown and Nissan still have Infiniti etc. Therefore, Teana, Camry, Accord etc are midrange only, thus cannot be compared to BMW 7 series etc. Same for K5 too. Proton_neutron 1st Gear June 8, 2011 Share June 8, 2011 The few reasons why the K5 ain't selling as well [not seeing it on the road], is probably because, a) Shipment hasn't arrived b) Competition from European rivals, especially those 1.6Turbo versions are heating up c) Customers waiting for K5 2.4GDi model to come in Thanks to more and more Singaporeans, especially the upper middle class society getting more affluent, you're seeing more 5-Series and E-Class on the roads [in fact, more than 3-series and C-Class respectively]. It's also possibly due to the higher COE prices. That's why the rich gets seemingly richer, the poor remain status quo or get poorer.

I am just stating what top of the lines models are and No, I did not say Accord, Teana, Camry is the same bracket as Civic, Lancer, Altis etc . I am saying Accord, Teana, Camry is same as K5 and these are a series higher than Civic, Altis, Lancer etc. However, they are not the top range as mentioned by you. Top range are Honda Legend, Nissan Infiniti, Crown etc. I am just stating the models line-up. Camry, Accords, Teana is never top of the range. Mike1234 1st Gear June 8, 2011 Share June 8, 2011 Kia Soul is a sales failure in Singapore but it is a huge success worldwide. So those who say it is a failure are right as far as only Singapore is concerned. Some people have the ability to only see things in the Singapore context and we should respect that. We shouldn't mock at people for their lack of exposure outside of Singhapore because not everybody's life, business and job require them to have knowledge anything outside of this little island. Kia Soul is a sales failure in SG..... Party becos - 1) High COE (of cos will make potential customers turn off), 2) AD( AD is focusing on Forte & Koup Sales instead)

Chill guys! Singapore is a small market and naturally we won't get the best of any brands. Just like hyundai not bringing in GDi version, or the equus or dodge charger etc etc. But staying in context to our market, our top of the line model is not the top of the line model that the brand carries. Eg, equus, infiniti or even SL65(not sure about this, but never seen in sg or even sgcarmart) etc Anyway, top of the line is rather vague, in terms of price or? Cause what I can see is you all comparing comfort level cars. I'm not siding anyone here, but let's not mis-interpret what the other party is saying. Miscommunication is very dangerous

There are A segments (Mini Compact car), B segments (Subcompact car), C segments (Compact car), D Segments (Mid size car) , E segments (Large car). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehicle_size_class Thus Automotive companies offer different car models under this segments... PS: Civic, Altis , Lancer, Forte,Elantra is under C segment while Accord, Tena , Camry, K5 , I45 is D segments

Vt04boys Neutral Newbie June 15, 2011 Share June 15, 2011 I luv my OPTIMA K5. Great ride and feeling. alright! another positive endorsement. dun see too many around at all.. Maybe you'll like to share more? How's the ride, noise for back passengers? Does it handle confidently at curves, especially "S" ? many USA SX units seem to have a "pull left" problem. do you experience that too on ur K5? ↡ Advertisement
