i seriously disagree with you

i drive a honda and my honda can't compare with the drive refinement of a kia forte

only in terms of power my honda is better, however when comparing engine note (honda sounds like a fruit blender), handling (honda flies), driving comfort (forte more spacious), fuel consumption

i believe there's no contest, the forte is a better car

Drive refinement is vague and differs among drivers enthusiatics.. But in my personal opinion, I am more into the feel of the car when driving (drivetrain, transmission, steering feedback etc) and felt it is just a level short of the Japanese (not just Honda)

And I am comparing K5 in Korea with the Japanese equivalent when I was in Japan.

well i don't like that my car sounds like a fruit blender when its started, i start a forte and the engine gives you an initial VROOOM! it gives you the feedback that its started, you don't get that mechanical spark plug sound that you do in a honda

when you are driving along with the aircon on, the car doesn't vibrate at all, its quiet to the extend its noiseless

in a honda especially when you are stopped and engine at idle, the car vibrates every now and then, the mechanics say the engine slows to save fuel and sometimes kicks up a notch to generate energy for the aircon compressor; but it shakes the whole car, i rather the smooth, quiet engine in a forte

in a forte, stepping gradually turns the engine up gradually

in a honda, you either step alittle or you floor to activate the vtec engine; stepping alittle doesn't give you alittle improvement in speed

finally in a honda, the engine only comes to life when you floor and vtec is engaged otherwise its a fruit blender and dead

in a forte, when you floor and stress the engine, the engine gives you the feedback, it roars that its stressed and it behaves stressed, you might not get the same performance as you do in a honda but the hard suspension makes up for the performance loss

personally i don't understand what people mean when they say ride refinement is missing in a kia, i find it the other way around! ride refinement is absent in a honda! a forte gives you that feedback that as a driver you acknowledge and respond appropriately, that is what driving is about!

if i wanted a dead ride, a fruit blender and a car that feels like a computer game, i might as well go play a computer game

i have not driven toyotas or suzukis before, but i've driven most hondas and a mazda 6, the m6 does give the feedback a forte does but not to the same level

the hondas on the other hand, are simply dead

May I ask kindly if you are a sis and not a bro? Out of curiousity. Cos the former is rare here. [;)]

useless post, whatever you've said has been proven to be incorrect, honda legend toyota crown and infinity are not on sale in sg market

accord teana and camry are considered top of the line in sg context

go read a few pages back

don't later come back here and post that toyota top of the line is lexus

I said don't put words in my mouth. You do not understand English ? I did not say Lexus is top of the line for Toyota. You think you very smart by twisting here and there and say I mentioned it which I did not. Only you have that kind of mentality that turns incorrect to correct and turns what is right into wrong. Only a joker like you can say Camry, Accord etc are the same range as BMW 7 series. Go speed at 160km/hr with your mentality and I think it is better of me to rest my case as advised by some forummers coz you may well be a school kid behind that screen.

Anyway, just to add-on. You are wrong again. In Singapore context, the top of the range is still Toyota Crown, Honda Legend etc and not Camry or Accord etc. Since you mentioned Legend and Crown are not for sale here is actually on sale and I can tell you the price too. Don't know don't talk or else it shows the kind of person you are.

seriously doubt that 160bhp can get you a 8.3s sprint timing unless the car body is extremely light

simple comparison, a 1.3ton lancer ex 2.0 gt with 155bhp does the sprint in 10.5s

assuming a best case scenario where every 100kg reduction will shave 0.5s off your sprint timing after factoring in the 5bhp

thus to hit 8.3s your car will probably have to be 600kg only!

i guess 10.3 or 9.3 at best case scenario is more likely, or you'll have to seriously boost the turbo on the jetta

Its the torque not bhp that boost the 0-100 time...still 8.3 is optimistic.

Why is it so difficult for people to walk up to the counter, ask the people there to serve you if you need it?

Sales people is hard to be man, sometimes people wants to be left alone, sometimes people want to be served, sometime you serve people say you how lian.

I am not car salesman but I think not easy to be one.

BTW, the Jetta is heavily critised for the low grade plastic used in the interior of the car, not a single review I read has given it positive point. The exterior however is nice and clean, very good looks. Kudos to VW for pricing it right too.

Huh? Then you don't need any sale person? Just have 1 counter enough. I think the correct way is to look for business and not for bussiness to look for you. I know some people prefer to be left alone, but at least the saleperson should inform the customer if he need help, he will be there.

I don't rely on review to buy car, I test drive myself. In term of power, handling; Jetta is better. The 1.4 TSi engine can easily chipped up to stage 1 to give a even higher bhp. Also lower road tax. [thumbsup]

I'm quite curious on what Honda make bro Expertz here is driving.

civic 1.6, integra 2.0, accord jdm 2.0, fit 1.3

in terms of drive the integra is the best, however everything else lags far behind and the integra's engine feels exactly the same as that found in the accord, its handling is slightly better though

funny thing, my gf prefers my accord to her integra

Integra is definetely good to drive. Compare it to Kia koup the DC5 win hands down.

I have many friends driving the CL7 and personally sat on one to Malacca and back.

I fully agree with them that it's a driver's car.

Not sure which model of civic 1.6 you have. But I'm pretty sure the current FD4 handles quite well too.

No comments on fit 1.3 as I never had a chance to try them.

I have been in Korea long enough to see & drive practically most, and including their newer luxurious models (K7, Grandeur, Genesis) here that are yet to make appearances in Singapore.

Since we're on Kia K5 topic, yes on first looks, it is damn stunning & impressive on the outlook, no doubt about it. But after some time, the novelty wears off as these cars are everywhere here. But then, I believe the same applies to all makes.

Anyway, I have noticed a consistent trait among all Korean cars. The driving refinement just does not feel comparable compared to Japanese in their own respective categories.

Now if we combine both of their strengths, rest assured it is definitely worth the money.

i had to google search the Grandeur, what a name, it's setting itself up to "self-pwn" or self-bang, detractors (and surely there will be) will call it the delusions of Grandeur [laugh]

Don't laugh at the Koreans lorh. Though they're still not really as good as the Japanese when it comes to reliability, and how long the car will last as good as its brand new, they've already overtaken the Japanese in terms of design and engineering.

Another generation of cars from the Elantra and i45 will take them up of the position where the Japanese are occupying now.

And 2 gens from now, they'll probably be up with the Germans/ Europeans in general.

the torque n the DSG gearbox makes a lot of diff... 8.3 is entirely possible if u have tried VW 1.4ltr twincharged

Just wondering, why the Kia K5's rear LED lamps look like a Skoda Superb's/ Nissan Teana when litted up [brake lights, especially when seen in the day]??

dun u find the DRL looks similar too when it is litted? a row of litted LEDs..... [:)]

If I rem correctly, jaguar xf does not seem to hv the row of litted LEDs effect on the rear LED lamps ya....
