Merkava Neutral Newbie June 24, 2011 Share June 24, 2011 bro, when is the new shipment arriving? Is it selling well? ETA Aug-Sept, this vehicle is selling well globally hence this 1st high spec shipment of Optima comes only 15 units. Sale for this vehicle is moving very slowly due to high coe. Wrong time wrong place...
Optima Neutral Newbie June 26, 2011 Share June 26, 2011 With the earlier batch of K5. Can the seats be fitted with the cooling ventilated seat functions?
Picanto 3rd Gear June 26, 2011 Share June 26, 2011 most would not mind paying more for a conti car. when a korean car cost around the same price as a conti, then its going to be tough.
Tayspiderx 3rd Gear June 26, 2011 Share June 26, 2011 Was at UBI check out the ventilated seats...it really works. it can run solo, separate from main ac, on accessories power w/o engine running. BTW Optima, care to share the model of the NEXEN tires? the rim offset confirm +46? thx
Expertz 1st Gear June 27, 2011 Share June 27, 2011 most would not mind paying more for a conti car. when a korean car cost around the same price as a conti, then its going to be tough. wait for a 2nd hand k5 vs a 2nd hand conti i'd rather pay lesser for the 2nd hand k5 than a conti, considering the 5 year warranty, lower depreciation but equal value! Funkyjazz Neutral Newbie July 2, 2011 Share July 2, 2011 I went to alexandra show room today. I walk in, look around the K5, sit inside, walk around, collect the brochure, walk out and no saleman even approach me. Poor service or no service? I walk over to volkswagen, more friendly even though a lot of people. The new Jetta is definitely much better buy at $124K. 1.4 TSI egine, 0-100 at 8.3 sec. 160bhp. Wow!! The new Jetta is definitely much better buy at $124K. 1.4 TSI egine, 0-100 at 8.3 sec. 160bhp. Wow!! seriously doubt that 160bhp can get you a 8.3s sprint timing unless the car body is extremely light simple comparison, a 1.3ton lancer ex 2.0 gt with 155bhp does the sprint in 10.5s assuming a best case scenario where every 100kg reduction will shave 0.5s off your sprint timing after factoring in the 5bhp thus to hit 8.3s your car will probably have to be 600kg only! i guess 10.3 or 9.3 at best case scenario is more likely, or you'll have to seriously boost the turbo on the jetta Edited July 2, 2011 by Expertz

Why is it so difficult for people to walk up to the counter, ask the people there to serve you if you need it? Sales people is hard to be man, sometimes people wants to be left alone, sometimes people want to be served, sometime you serve people say you how lian. I am not car salesman but I think not easy to be one. BTW, the Jetta is heavily critised for the low grade plastic used in the interior of the car, not a single review I read has given it positive point. The exterior however is nice and clean, very good looks. Kudos to VW for pricing it right too.
Renegade777 5th Gear July 3, 2011 Share July 3, 2011 (edited) he'll just twist his words again and say toyota top of the line is lexus which you can find in singapore or heck, proton's top of the line is lotus, geely top of the line is volvo! Hello Mr. First you call me names and now put words n my mouth. I warn you. Do not put words in my mouth which I did not say. I did not twist any of my phrases like saying Civic, Corolla are K5 range. I did not say top of the line Toyota is Lexus etc. All is said by you and you are the one who twisted it. I only said Camry, K5, Teana, Accord are middle range. Civic, Lancer, Corolla etc are another range. Top of the line are Honda Legend, Toyoya Crown(i did not say Lexus), Infinity etc. Watch what you say and dont quote things I never say. Sad to say u cannot even analyse simple paragraphs. And now I remember, you are the one who started the thread claiming you sped at 160km/hr, taking fast corners and beating the lights and after that start to worry. Grow up lah. Jensonbutton Neutral Newbie July 3, 2011 Share July 3, 2011 I have been in Korea long enough to see & drive practically most, and including their newer luxurious models (K7, Grandeur, Genesis) here that are yet to make appearances in Singapore. Since we're on Kia K5 topic, yes on first looks, it is damn stunning & impressive on the outlook, no doubt about it. But after some time, the novelty wears off as these cars are everywhere here. But then, I believe the same applies to all makes. Anyway, I have noticed a consistent trait among all Korean cars. The driving refinement just does not feel comparable compared to Japanese in their own respective categories. Now if we combine both of their strengths, rest assured it is definitely worth the money.
