Call up your unit to voluntee for early or double ICT!

I think better finish all your expensive food like abalone. Stockup win instand noodles and luncheon meat!

Best is everyday buy oily fried food for their breakfast and dinner! Feed them until they fat fat. Buy packets of oily peanuts and cans of cheap beer like jolly sandy! Buy butter bread and cakes! Cookies and sugared drinks.

That's the best revenge you can give without actually Killing them!

Probably TS's wife will be very fat as well by then....... [laugh]

I can only feel sorry for you, since I'm not wearing your shoes, and have not experienced the same things, I am not qualified to 'give you advice', but i feel you'll have to work it out yourself, instead of asking here in a forum.

Bro, pity you lah but if you love your wife you have to put up with their idiotic behaviours. They are mostly like that (m'sian men) maybe due to the fact they do not go thru NS like we do. Had a couple of M'sian male colleagues throughout the years and only one phrase to describe them - ku niangs. One took urgent leaves whenever his bunny fall sick and he'll whine "I have to take care of my baby!" Grmmmmmph?

I dont know about your finances, but I believe every family should always aim to save up, especially if you have/are going to have kids, they cost a bomb [bigcry]

Have you tried talking to your wife about this? Maybe she'll understand that she has to sacrifice feeding her siblings a bit to feed her own kids [laugh]

With a firm tone, drum into your wife that smoking in the house is very harmful to the occupants in it, especially your kid(s).

The smoke can also get to the people staying above & beside your house, depending on the wind direction.

For the sake of your child and everyone else, get your wife to relate the message to her immediate family members in crystal-clear manner, once and for all.

bro... think you ans to the wrong person lah.. it another bro family who smoke....

haha [laugh]

Maybe you can try this.

Get your parents/family members to come live with you so that no more room available to house your BILs.

Only problem is whether your new tenants would be worst than the current ones.... [sweatdrop]

One of my friend sold his flat to stay with his parents to avoid such problems....... [:p]

when you marry her.. you marry the family.... has been and always will be... though some other peoples opinions 'may differ.

i guess your wife from MY... mine is too... to a certain extent.. mine is abit similar too yours, as my wife would hope i can take care of her bros and sis... the difference is lucky they are very independent.... the reason we bought a flat initially was so her bros and sis can save on rental... which i am fine with it... but lucky they dun want to stay... [:p]

i think you should speak to your wife.. lay down some ground rules with her... and enforce them if need be. EG: her bro hp.. just tell her if her bro dun pay.. she has to pay... and let her pay.. neither should you feel angry about it..., who eat thing must throw away.. if dun throw next time dun eat... and dun let them stay for free... let them pay... not rental but pay enough to cover PUB...so they will not take it for granted

Sorry you marry her only and not the family. The man and woman when married leaves their parents and become one. Our Parents, Brothers, Sisters... ALL in the Outer Circle.

Joemit, you should tell your wife that she has to make a Stand as to How Much of her income can be used to support her family - Give it to her Parents and let them Redistribute to her Bros, and Sis.

About them staying in your house.... Note - your house is NOT a Hotel. If they chose to work in SG, they have to find a rental house. ONLY her Parents can stay in your house.

Handphone bills - why you so generous ? cut all of it and make them pay by themselves.

Sometimes, you have to be the HEAD of your Household. Don't let these Pariahs sh1t all over your home.

[laugh] Mine is an extreme suggestions lah...

But my friend did "solve" his problem. His PILs who once stayed >1 yr in his house now can only stayed for about 2 weeks to 1 month. Plus his mother is able to help take care of his 2 kids. [thumbsup]

before i proceed

i would like to apologise first if my post may offend some forumers here

talk is cheap

i know some forumers suggest ts this and that, especially getting back at the family members

i would not say wrong or right

it is just that we never been in ts shoes

for ts situation is actually opposite of mine

its because of my late dad (well he remarried) that i endure it although wifey is truely unhappy with many things on my side

my siblings and step siblings are 10 including me and i'm the eldest

what ts gone through is more or less the same as wifey gone through

i mean i myself are short of cash sometimes salary is in negative value after paying utilities,cc,etc etc

so when they urgently need money sometimes i boh pian got to dig somewhere

in the end my dad pass away and i try to distance myself

if last time i use to visit my dad maybe twice a month

now i just cant be bother maybe once a year during festive season

another thing is base on my experience

other asians look at singaporeans as cash cow (my step siblings are malaysians and indonesians)

thinking we are very rich, drive car, got big house etc etc

example only end of last year 1 of them contact me saying need $1k cause short of money for wife's liver operation

honestly speaking i was really short of money during that time but i forgo some bills

all of you may said i'm stupid and idiots and all sort of names

like i said talk is cheap

if we are in somebody shoes then we realise how bad is it

to ts

yup its true that once you marry, you marry into your partner family

whatever your wife burden you got to pick it up too

even though i know its very heavy for you

all i can say is, good luck in finding a way out

but please dont pressure your wife as i believe she have enough pressure as it is

regards

I have to agree with you. Talk is cheap.

To TS, your wife cannot decide where she wants to be born into so please do not give her too much pressure.

i must agree with bro galantspeedz... maybe i was lucky, my mum always tell me the same thing... marry a girl means marry her family and their problem.. thats y i am very care on such matter...

1st of all, i must say that there is no such culture in Malaysia where the eldest have to take care of the younger slibling... i have seen a lot of cases where the eldest dont really give a damn at all...

Okie, since you are in the s--t now... its better to have a family meeting. Dont put your wife in the difficult position. Explain to them what is happening and show them all the bills and the telco contracts... many old folks dont undestand cos there is no such things as hp/ internet contract during their era, and utility bills is dirt cheap in malaysia, over hear, every headcount will easily cost additional $30 to $40 to the utility bill monthly . Let them know that how heavy is your load, the amount of money you had paid for their children.., the penalties you had to be responsible, the monthly installment you have to fork out...

if the PIL still refuse to undestand, then too bad....

i'd draw the limit at taking care of in-law parents... siblings can go fk spider...

take it or leave it... u keep feeding them, they'll keep leaching off you. like forever

Neutral Newbie

I sympathize with your predicament.

Am sure your kind deeds towards your siblings will be paid back to you, blessing you when you're in need of it in future.
