Kar_lover Supercharged March 16, 2011 Share March 16, 2011 I'm not sure what you mean by "lower tax" unless you are referring to the VW 1.4 TSI engine and the Peugeot 1.6 turbo. The CT200h road tax is based on the 1798 cc engine (tax based on 60kW motor power is less than 1.8L calculation). And Citroen also. ↡ Advertisement
TD5000 Clutched March 16, 2011 Share March 16, 2011 Yes, referring to the 1.4TSI and the 1.6 turbos used by the conti cars. I think the Golf 1.4TSI, Alfa Guilette 1.4, Mini Countryman S 1.6 would definitely be more fun to drive compared to the CT200. Those 1.4/1.6 engines are little but punchy at low end touque which suits SG's road conditions perfectly vs the sluggish but economy hybrid engine of the Toyota. But again, if you're someone looking for comfort, economy, relaxing kind of driving style, then the CT200 might be a better choice.

Yeah, criticisms and magaine reports aside, the different types of cars do suit different driver types. Can we ever get the best of both worlds? Can a car be: 1. fun to drive 2. a good handling machine 3. prestigious (brand-wise) 4. economical 5. easy on the wallet I can't think of one, but maybe the Audi A1 comes close.
