It seems tat in Sg, drivers only care abt their demerit points n money, so they'll focus on avoiding violations tat TP focuses on.

So far, my take is tat TP doesn't care much abt enforcing STOP signs.

Was told by one TP he was sent to watch one stop sign after their head office received repeated reports

Hmm....interesting....so drivers shld write in to complain more abt a particular violation, then TP will step up efforts to enforce tat rule? [gossip][smash]

TS - just learn from your mistake and drive safely.

Even if you have no demerit points right now doesn't mean that you can go around driving recklessly. If you are driving carefully now only because you are approaching 24 points, then i say you're totally missing the point, and i wish you good luck with your life.

Anyway, even if you don't care about your safety, spare a thought about other road users and your loved ones.

when involved in any accident,

1) check how much is the monetary damage? your own damage and the other party/parties damage

2) do simple calculation, compare the NCD loss/ higher premium vs private settlement damange

3) consult your insurance agency (don't just listen to your family members, friends, here say there say)

4) keep in touch with the other party to settle the incident in WIN-WIN situation.

TS made too much mistakes in handling this "small" accident...

1) no signal / no proper check of blindspot

2) admit wrong yet don't wanna compensate ($$ can be negotiable if you sincere but don't condemn)

3) listen to mum, who had advised you wrongly

4) ...

now what TS can do is admit the mistake, and appeal to TP, ask to waive the demerit points, talk nicely and reasons it out.. good luck I believe you may got some chance if you know how to write a "good and proper" appeal letter. :)

sigh because of $500, now u ending paying many times more.. [knife] [knife]

If you are at fault, just be a man and admit it and bear any costs that come with it. If the accident victim senses your sincerity, high chance he won't carrot you also la. I ever langa a bike when reversing, never check blind spot. Came down say sorry and gave him $50, and my handphone number in case his repairs came more than $50. Later, he called me and told me the costs is $100 odd, but says not worth to repair and change as his is an old bike and decided against repairing as it is just a cosmetic scratch (just a light kiss), wheel still ok. So, I think if you had been more sincere in your approach to admit your fault and bear any additional costs for the inconvenience of the victim (be it medical, wasted time to workshops and so on), the victim won't have to come to the extent to claim from your insurance. Everything is just a phonecall away.

But of course, I am lucky I met an angel. It could have been worse if the person is out to tekan me. [:p]
