Good-Carbuyer 1st Gear October 12, 2010 Share October 12, 2010 before overtaking you should ensure that there is sufficient space on lane 1 for you to filter into lane 1, overtake and return to lane 2 the whole procedure should take no more than 5 seconds unless you are driving a chery qq which then you should stay in lane 2 and not look to overtake others if another car can tailgate you, obviously you were not fast enough to overtake the car in lane 2 or you did not return to your original lane after overtaking or there was not enough space on lane 1 and you forced others to brake while you were trying to overtake whatever the case, its your fault not everybody drives a >300bhp car to speed up fast enough to tailgate you within such a short duration Haha. If you are kidding with us, this is ticklish. I like your sense of humour in this instance. There was no mention of time spend on overtaking. There was no mention the car model. There was no mention the engine output of any car. A) Are you answering to your own assumptions? B) Are you having difficulties to comprehend the scenario? C) Are you unable/lack of knowkedege to overtake within speed limits? D) Are pretending not to have a valid Driving Licence, or ever drove on public road? TP= Traffic Police I believe all of us do appreciate a good joke/laugh once in a while. We respect talented people. Many thanks. ↡ Advertisement
Hondacub777 6th Gear October 12, 2010 Share October 12, 2010 Car 'C' tailgating Car 'A' in Lane 1 which was overtaking another Car 'B' in Lane 2, all within speed limit. Car 'A' is not road-hogging. But Car 'C' is tailgating. Example: One day (many years back), I was travelling within speed limit, and found a TP tailgating me. When I signalled, he realized his mistake and immediately me left alone (he could book me if I were road-hogging?) Your unspelt rule is applicable along NSH, but within Singapore creative imagination for the time being within speed limit as all travelling at 90km/hr?How to overtake if all at same speed? If its below, can go f#$% spider. Its road hogging! Speedz76 2nd Gear October 12, 2010 Share October 12, 2010 (edited) http://www.straitstimes.com/STForum/Online...ory_589313.html Home > ST Forum > Online Story Oct 12, 2010 Do more to prevent tailgating I APPLAUD the Traffic Police for issuing summonses to tailgaters for they are the cause of many accidents ("13,000 tickets for errant driving"; Oct 4). I have on several occasions been tailgated while driving in the right lane of expressways at the maximum speed limit of 90kmh. Even when I accelerate, the drivers would persist in their tailgating. I usually have to give way and move to the left lane as it would be foolhardy to compete with them. My life would be in danger and the lives of other road users as well. Besides, I would be violating the law. I wish we could have anti-tailgating stickers distributed to drivers to promote a safer driving experience on the roads. Soh Swee Kiat knn.. it is exactly people like these that cause the already slow traffic to be even slower.. drive at 90km/h on lane 1 and still think he is right... write to the paper is slapping himself in the face i drive on lane 1 at 120 see jaguar zooming in behind me i also filter to lane 2 to give way Edited October 12, 2010 by Speedz76
Hermitage 1st Gear October 12, 2010 Share October 12, 2010 Perhaps you are unaware, you are a road hogger. Even if you are driving at 100km/h on 1st lane, you should give way to one that drives faster then you. This is a unspelt rule. Bro, TS is NOT the hogger lah! He was presenting some idiot's complaint on STForum about being tailgated at 90km/h! Honestly, these SOBs at 90 on e-way lane 1 refusing to give way MUST be shot in the knees...then in the thighs...then in the shoulders...and finally in their muthafarkin' heads!! Ladykillerz 4th Gear October 12, 2010 Share October 12, 2010 in my opinion, just don't be too extreme. 1) don't stay in right lane @ a constant speed of 90km/hr. 2) big vehicles like (lorries, vans, trucks, etc.), stay in left lane unless overtaking, you are not fast and your braking distance is KING KONG far. =P 3) for those speedy, try not to drive so fast lah. you don't expect to drive 200km/hr and all cars have to give it to you mah. we all share the lanes, you don't own the whole one lane mah. =P
