inlinesix Hypersonic October 13, 2010 Share October 13, 2010 seriously if they were to come out with an official statement, 90km/h is the speed limit thus you will be hogging only if you drove at 40km/h on lane 1 but graciousness dictates that we speed alittle so that everybody benefits Read this post: Visit My Website Under the law, as long as obstruction of faster vehicle is considered to be road hogging. Expertz 1st Gear October 13, 2010 Share October 13, 2010 Read this post: Visit My Website Under the law, as long as obstruction of faster vehicle is considered to be road hogging. yes, but the faster vehicle should be going at 90km/h which is speed limit so in this case the car infront is not road hogging, the car behind is speeding perhaps there might be different opinions la, i'm not TP so i won't know :)

Swordwind Clutched October 13, 2010 Share October 13, 2010 As long as vehicle from the back is faster & vehicle in front is not giving way, it is road hogging. In the case u mentioned, vehicle behind is speeding & vehicle in front is road hogging. so as long as a faster car is behind, e front car is breaking the law? and how about if he moves aside the next moment, will he be charged for abetting the speeder behind to break the law further? haha.. funny man all these.. :P
Rubberstamp Neutral Newbie October 13, 2010 Share October 13, 2010 I post again... I know majority of the guys here believe that road hogging is wrong. But from what i gather from the straits times report is that the Traffic Police is issuing summons to the drivers who tail gate. And i believe the cars who were being tail gated were travelling on lane 1 at the maximum speed limit. So i assume that the Traffic Police sees nothing wrong with driving on lane 1 at 90km/h. So i assume that the Traffic Police sees driving beyong the speed limit on lane 1 as breaking the law. In this case, are we breaking the law by going beyond the speed limit on lane 1? Take road courtesy and etiquette aside and simply look at breaking the law and not breaking the law. So my question to you, if you were caught by the Traffic Police by driving at say 110km/h on lane (with no cars in front of you), what you say? How would you explain or appeal your case? The law says road hogging = obstructing faster vehicle. If scare to pick up speed, go back to lane 2. I had overtake another vehicle on ECP @ 120km/h. Judging from your harsh emotional response, I reckon you are someone who ferries children, possibly with no child seats, and think you have every right to go slow and might roadhog on occasion. Every roadhogger would have their own self righteous excuse of course. I apologise if I offend your sensibilities and I do not attempt my manoeurve if I do see children in the car of the perpetrator. Slowman 2nd Gear October 13, 2010 Share October 13, 2010 Lane 1 is for overtaking. That's mean is not meant for driver who is speeding. During overtaking, temporary above speed limit is unavoidable but not to exit 20km/hr above the limit (if I remember correctly) Driving constantly above speed limit no matter which lane also kenna summon. All cars travel within the speed limit should not be in lane 1. This are all basic theory. Wonder if nowaday driving licence can be bought??
Expertz 1st Gear October 13, 2010 Share October 13, 2010 i was on the roads once when i saw a police wrx on lane 2 so out of curiosity i drove at the same speed as he was doing and he was actually driving consistently at 90km/h figured that he was doing that to catch speeders so i dare not overtake him, obviously if i overtook i'm speeding but after awhile noticed that there were many cars overtaking the TP wrx on lane 1 and continuing at lane 1 all the way yet the TP didn't do anything i think if a TP catches you in lane 1 at 100km/h or 105km/h, whether they fine you or not really depends on your attitude not your speed ↡ Advertisement
