Hi guys,

if you trying to direct sell your car to buyer and during buyer test drive, he got your car into accident, how to claim from him? is it a practice to let him sign some undertaking form before test drive? [rolleyes]

by right yes. But, so far I have test driven a few cars from direct buyers, they didn't ask me to sign anything. Not even looking at the driver's licence.

yes i know, mostly direct sellers n buyers dont prepare such things. but then again, if unlucky accident happen, then how? [sweatdrop]

dun let them test drive, u can drive them ard. until they really really serious.

even when i go view cars i don't request for test drive, i ask the owners to drive the cars cos its too much of a responsibility if s--t happens. I'll only take the wheel if offered, and i'll drive like an old aunty.

Yes, there is a form at sgcarmart where you can get him to sign before testdrive, important to prevent further dispute!

My encounter is most direct sellers will offer you to test it out whilst for dealers, they gave too many excuses not for you to test drive.

I always wait for sellers to offer me the test drive.

Sign forms also no use.

In the end you will still have to claim from your insurance, correct?

How you enforced the driver to pay for the excess? Sue him?

I sold my car recently...word of advice...no need to let people test drive unitl u assess them as serious

U will get a lot of bo leow calls and ridiculous offers. Just part of the game so don't get too worked up.

One thing to note if you finally do agree and sell the car. The financing part needs to be worked out. The finance compnay won;t relase funds unitl transfer is done. So techinically u transfer your cara way before u see the $$$. Gotto work out an amiable solution with your buyer.

Arrange on the same day - transfer at LTA in AM, collect cashier order from bank in PM?

yap the paper work can be abit messy for the inexperience car seller. So better let someone handle for u for a small sum.

For test drive, quite sometime ago i test drove a car at show room they also never ask me sign any form....?

But of cos the saleman is quite direct and ask me if i am really serious...lol.

Later i bought the car from him.

If u dont test-drive, how to know if car good or not.

I wont even consider a car if cannot test-drive.

And when i test e car, i drive quite hard so can feel if car got any problems or not.
