Change our car batteries every 2 yrs and avoid more $ as well as anxiety. All test equipment serves only an indication even measuring cranking current that passed can fail next day when aged toward mentioned 2 yrs.

For conti cars with battery in cool rear boot, 3 or even 4 yrs is not unheard of.

Heat kills car batteries and our hot simplepore weather need to be considered when googling.

Cheers.

Oh. Yes I park daily under direct sun at work - Unavoidable.

If under warranty, best to go back to Eurokar to avoid any disclaimer by them.

If not, kimhoe at Ubi has one of the best price for Varta ones which I prefers ... not sure suitable model and $ though. I just got my Varta AGM e39 this afternoon for 278 for my Forester xt which is fine.

Cheers

BOSE system is good to have too.

@Des72 Not sure current pricing of Android Auto upgrade by Eurokar but do consider it for internet radios if not replacement of stock Nav SW that sucks with google maps and voice assistant seatch for safety also.

Many free internet radio stations nowadays with hires up to full flac or 320kbps mp3 and while local mediacorp stations are not up to mark at max 66kbps acc, they still sounds  much much better than fm reception.

Just a caution that hires full flac runs up to 1GB for 1hr+ listening but I hv infinity plan for some great music:

Any Mazda 6 owner here has installed voltage stabilizer to the car battery? Any improvement or negative impact since this car already come with I-Eloop and iStop ?

Better don't install...otherwise ''may'' affect the i-Eloop...take note Cars with i-Eloop have a different Alternator of Normal Cars.

Had my car for 2 months and mileage ard 400km.

1. the central door lock/open can only activate using the lock besides the handle?

2. Can we open the rear boot trunk from any button or lever inside the car?

3. When car starts, it roars loudly and the temperature icon is lighted up for about 20sec. Is this normal?

4. when connected to Apple Carplay, any message coming from whatsapp, sms, etc, the music volume will get distorted for a split second. Again, is this normal?

5. An SD card is plugged inside the center compartment. I presumes that's the map for GPS. Need to be updated?

Yes. That's normal. Mazda Skyactiv G engines upon start-up from cold first 30 seconds are programmed to run at rpm of around 1250 to 1500rpm to warm up the engines faster.

"5. An SD card is plugged inside the center compartment. I presumes that's the map for GPS. Need to be updated?"
The Mazda Service centre will update the map when available during servicing.

Is there a boot release button somewhere beside the steering wheel column? Like as shown in this diagram.179441911_Screenshot(54)a.thumb.png.951b1e1f75ece9d933bd0d3e82738bb1.png

@al_888
1. There isn't any unlock button in the car. The only way is to use the knob at the door handle.

2. No boot release either. Only way is to go out to the boot and press that outside button.

4. I use Android Auto instead, and the volume becomes softer as the notification or GPS direction sound is played. But I think this can be adjusted somewhere so that either the volume is not changed or notification doesnt come up when driving. Not sure for Apple Carplay though.

1 and 2 were also my gripes with the car during the first few weeks, but got used to it after a while. However no 1 is still a problem from time to time if the front passenger wants to lock the door after the driver steps out. Have to reach far over.

@richard_crl032 so with this enhancement, strut bar is redundant then? I’m thinking of getting one for better handling when negotiating tight cornering.

Hi Cheuman1,

On Tien's active edfc setup?

Affirmative that strut bars, anti roll bar etc. becomes redundant imho.

Cheers.

Hi all, I have some questions about Apple Carplay.

I bought my new Mazda6 on mid-2019 (the facelift version), use Android Auto until now without any issue. My wife phone spoilt and she decided to switch to iPhone.

Do I need to spend some money to upgrade the system/hardware for my wife to use Apple Carplay?

Or it's assumed to have Apple Carplay capability since I can use Android Auto all these while?

Our family member all use Android phone, currently no iPhone for me to do a quick try 😅

Thanks!

You plug in an Android phone and you’ll have Android Auto. However you won’t get touch screen functionality at all, even when the car is stationary.

You won’t have to spend extra to get CarPlay either, the system recognises the phone that’s plugged in and launches into the corresponding environment.
