If price is the factor, compare to mini one also.

Well, if you visit Skoda thread, you will see people comparing Audi A4 to VW Passat and Skoda Superb. 

 

I do know of people considering Altis and Civic and end up getting M6 after learning the price for 2.0l.

I own neither mz6 2.5 or superb, but i'm curious why one will choose superb over mz6. No offence to anyone

 

size - similar

looks - mz6 win hands down (at least for me)

power - superb edge it with 2l turbo engine

reliability - assume Jap always win this

resale - assume jap always win this

some people may prefer superb for the NHV, smoothness and power

They are doing it wrong. They should compare with mazda 6 2.5L based on price.

You got to understand there are 2 kind of buyers.

1. Buy solely base on the category they want/need

2. Set a budget range and short list those car within the budget and narrow down to the one car they like/most comfortable with

1st off, there is no denying M6 is a class bigger than Altis and Civic. 1.6 Altis and Civic should compare with M3 strictly in size. However when you factor in the price, then you can definitely compare them as their price is around the same ball park. Look at the price as at 25 Jul 2018 below

 

 

The price of Altis listed price is only about $1k less than the base M6. The price between M6 and Civic 1.5T is $4.7K. For some consumer, M6 is definitely in the consideration list along with Altis and Civic.

 

Civic 1.5T 170HP, 220Nm and M6 2.0 is 163HP, 213Nm so power wise is also within the same range. 

 

If M6 is only allowed to compete in it's size class, 2.0 M6 is in no man land.

For 2.5l, the PI Camry is cheaper with a new design. And at $130k range, Subaru Legacy, VW Passat, Skoda Superb will also come in the pictures.

Too bad the 2.5 Turbo is not available in Singapore. 

 

Mazda 6 also have standard 3k off list price+ additional discount range from 1k to 3k depending on bargaining skill

 

total off list price could range from 3k to 6k

They are doing it wrong. They should compare with mazda 6 2.5L based on price.

some ppl compare based on size, some compare based on price

 

size - mz6, skoda, camry, passat

 

price - those around 120-150k,

You got to understand there are 2 kind of buyers.

For me I buy based on budget, my budget is $115k and below. 

Initially I listed out 3 model

  1. Honda Civic 1.6 i-VTEC (A)
  2. Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross 1.5 T Sport (A)
  3. Mazda 2.0 Executive 2018

Honda Civic is the cheapest among these 3 but It has no horsepower according to review I strike off if get turbo bit out of budget so I strike off.

Mitsubishi took in my old car based on parf value no additional no discount no choice but to cancel

Lastly Mazda 6 was spacious, I love the new face lift and lucky for me Eurokars took in old vehicle at higher price and there is discount (which i made a deposit of $2,000 before it launch, not to mention I don't even have to bid or top up for COE.) 

 

I did consider Subaru Forester and XV but I understand that the maintenance is HEAVY! :(

 

*I understand these 3 are different category, spec etc, but I based on my budget.

Ehh, think you quote wrong post. But I see no one posted comparing 2.0 M6 to Audi A4 too. They are not in the same class nor similar price bracket. Anyway, whatever your stand is, let's just agree to disagree. Let's not derailed the thread further.

For me I buy based on budget, my budget is $115k and below.

Congrats. When will you receive your ride? I do hope you factor in the difference in road tax and insurance when you made your decision.

given your 3 choices, is space your biggest requirement? Or looks?

 

If i was in your shoes, i would consider the 6, simply due to its sleek design and price. Comparing the civic and 6, most will take the 6 any day. Given its superiority in looks, size and commanding presence.

 

Just curious which car did you offer to Mitsubishi to trade in?  [laugh]

I was in similar shoes to you 1.5 years back. But i eventually went for a SUV due to space requirements.

Can share what you mean when you say that road tax is cheaper? Road tax for mz6 should be $1,210.

I mean Mazda 6 vehicle nett price + road tax is cheaper than Mitsubishi nett price + road tax.

 

due to my trade in they took in higher.

Toyota Noah is good choice but no horsepower. U took hybrid from PI or AD?

Noah not available from AD...
