What is the monthly salary for a experience indonesian maid?

I'm paying my current one at $380 per month... Actual is $360 and the $20 is a supplement for her off day (no off)...

After the maid worked for 4 years returned back to Indonesia, my fren offered her $600 a month to ask her come back.

 

So far this is the highest amount I heard..

I am now paying my Indon maid $500 a month, 2 months bonus every year, plus every Sunday off. This is her 3rd 2-year contract with us.

 

First contract, $350 (no bonus). 2nd contract $400 (1 mth bonus) and now $500 (2 mth bonus).

Wah, looks like you can beat me on actual bonus offering. :D

 

But although I don't offer that much as bonus, I used this to offset against her school fees of about $1000 per year as she is pursing a drgree offered by the Indonesia school.

 

I feel she deserve a better life and want her to have a better future if she goes back.

Yes, but she dererves it. She is devoted to my kids, worries about them when they fall sick etc. She makes the extra effort to go through cook books to cook new and interesting dishes for my family so that we don't eat the same thing all the time. Even on her days off, if my kids are sick, she will sms me to remind me to give my kids their medicine!

 

Whenever we want to buy her new clothes/shoes etc., she will decline and won't even take money from me for haircuts. She knows she has a good deal compared to other Indon maid and she is very motivated to do a good job.

I also wanted to pay for her to study for a degree but she is not interested in studying any more. Now with the money she's saved, she bought a sugar cane plantation back in Indon and she told us that on her last holiday home, the workers on the plantation called her "boss".... ha ha

 

But she has already done all the MOM courses on computer skills, cooking, baking etc so now looking for other courses to sign up for.

Lesson learnt.. No matter how good they are, do not trust them totally. 95% is ok but not 100%.

When a supposedly good maid goes astray...the fault does not lie solely on the maid.

 

The employer should bear part of the blame becos it is the responsiblity of a good employer to keep the maid motivated to produce good work by keeping her happy and makes sure her time is spend constructively.

 

It is the same as for parents who have kids.

 

How one is a good parent or employer, that have a definite effect on their kids or maid, is ultimately shaped by the way they manage their kids or maid.

 

The working environment, their daily duties and the benefits and rewards that goes to make a good working relation, is exactly the same as to what the employer himself/herself gets to experience when they work for someone too.

 

They say that nice and wonderful ppl, makes those around them to have the same disposition too but unfortunately there are not many of such cases to be seen.

You lucky got a good one. Usually although got exceptions, treat maid right and the maid treats the family right.

Our helper gets $450 a month. 3 Sundays off per month. This year I am going to give her 3 months bonus.

Are indonesian maids any good with infants and toddlers? Anyone have good or bad experience to share on this?

 

Not asking for her to be a full time nanny to the babies, but just help to look after when the parent is busy cooking, bathing, napping, etc

This I agree, used to have a good made that goes astray cause treat her too good, thus she take it for granted overtime.
