Piyopico Supercharged January 24, 2011 Share January 24, 2011 Entertaining the idea of installing one. Have always depended on a quick flip of the street directory or my OC as a scout if I am not sure of the way. Too many new roads and buildings keepn popping out and I am always lost in the Tuas area. Could be time to install a Garmin. Anyone with a GPS end up regreting or not using it much? ↡ Advertisement
Jman888 Moderator January 24, 2011 Share January 24, 2011 white elephant not every useful in SG, but good in MY. but you can use it on the routine roads (home to work back to home) just to think it worth the investment

Darthrevan Supercharged January 24, 2011 Share January 24, 2011 useful for unfamiliar places, those places i've never been to, or those friends living in a big housing estate which I have no idea where the blocks are located..for places i've been to..of course never have to rely on the GPS again..its good to have, especially if u're constantly on the move..for me I'll use it as and when needed..sometimes going to places which i roughly know the route, I'll use the GPS for a last mile..overall good to have

Gusruh Clutched January 24, 2011 Share January 24, 2011 Am using a Garmin Nuvi, no regret at all investing with it. I used it mostly when I go to Malaysia. Very useful to add the location of hotel stayed, so that I can get back there accurately whenever I go out for other sightseeing. Seldom use it is Singapore. No harm getting one as it is getting cheaper nowadays.
LoverofCar 6th Gear January 24, 2011 Share January 24, 2011 is good...at time we think we know every single corner in singapore...but when it comes to pin point the right blk or house..i still thnk it is useful to ensure i don;t waste petrol going around to search for it...also, the MY map is a sure must for bolehland goer...small money lah....just buy it lah... Roh96 6th Gear January 24, 2011 Share January 24, 2011 Not really necessary for Sg road. I believe most of us have a fixed routine 80% of the time and don't need a GPS to guide. I only use GPS when i travel in MY. If the car GPS comes as standard package with the car then okay, if to top up cash for this accessory then i would think is waste of $$. After market GPS system cheaper and easier to upgrade software etc.

SimonTan 2nd Gear January 24, 2011 Share January 24, 2011 Very useful! Can know the car actual speed! Can show off your actual top speed to your driving friends for bragging rights! Can save the visited places for future visits. Good for those who plays CMMs, sometimes these CMM will asked to be sent home or pick them up, and you can programs each location as CMM1, CMM2, etc for future references. Can know how long you have being driving(start car till reach destination).........can accurately know how long your journey takes! No more agar agar 30mins or 20 mins! Can guide others to help you when you are stuck in a deserted road (malaysia more useful), can call for help and give them the GPS coordinates! Can warn you of speed camera locations and especially when you are exceeding the road speed limit unknowingly!
Vid Hypersonic January 24, 2011 Share January 24, 2011 I'm a road idiot so it's good to have. Especially in M'sia. I'm using an audio system with built-in GPS. Not bad. ↡ Advertisement
