13177 Hypersonic April 19, 2011 Share April 19, 2011 I personally not comparing last time when COE was low and the current COE. For me, don't think i want to commit myself of paying so much for a car la, esp when i am not rich. So if the car price continue to stay in current level or even higher, then i would not want or able to buy a car.

Proton_neutron 1st Gear April 19, 2011 Share April 19, 2011 Wait for those richer people to buy 1st hand, let them drive for a few months, then they'll sell. Avante's are also marketable to families who need a 4th or 5th car. Those will be the carrot heads. Let them absorb all the depreciation with 1st hand buys like a sponge, you then take over as 2nd buyer like a cloth =)

Proton_neutron 1st Gear April 19, 2011 Share April 19, 2011 Good Idea! But nothing like Virgin. Aiyoh. You think the 1st hand car that you buy never gets touched by others before you meah? Don't get me started from the factory worker, who drives your car out of the factory, to the delivery man up the lorry to the local ship-yard waiting for export, to the driver who drives your car from the ship-yard up the ship, to the driver who drives it down on Singapore's dock, to the driver who drives your car up the lorry for shipment to the local factory to install items locally, to etc etc. You get the idea lah har =)

Proton_neutron 1st Gear April 19, 2011 Share April 19, 2011 But the stupid thing about keyless entry is that there's still a need for a key. When will they make access to the car an app from our smartphones we have these days??

Abachee 2nd Gear April 19, 2011 Share April 19, 2011 In my opinion, I dun think the list price will drop and so is the COE. Think the COE would hover $30+K and above for next few years as various Taxi companys are slowly trying to filled up their fleet with new taxi and god know how long more it will take to filled up. With the economy inflation still on the rise, more growth of rich Foreign talent, oil still on the rise and property price look good to stay for a long time. I would said that we will soon face a hard time in future to come. Til now Komoco havent disclose the date for the public launch, but once it announce. Then you wont see these price again. mark my word.... It seem like we are the batch of buyer in which they are trying to gauge how well their car will sell. And I am sure they would want the new model car to be out on road sooner possible and that will save them lots of advertisement cost. My 2 cents worth....... Civic6228 6th Gear April 19, 2011 Share April 19, 2011 Seems like you are confident that the price wun drop back to the level again.... Can say so... dun have to go one big round to put down a comment... First of all, I admit I was being sarcastic and I do apologise if it is offensive. Just that I feel that in Singapore, car are expensive as it is not a need. The car prices go up and down and it you are lucky you buy at the low price... but the local culture will also drive some to change car when car prices are high if their car are bought at a low price and they will sell at a profit. When someone decide to buy a car, he knows that he is going to lose money, car is a liability and never an assert. It depends on how much one is prepared to lose to pay the price for the car. Hence, car prices in Singapore does not mean anything to me. People will still buy an Avante/Elantra regardless of the prices be it at 40k, 90k or 100k. All the so called brand new cars, all are driven by many people before it is handed over to you. Even before the car is being delivered, your SE will be the last person driving your car, as in from the workshop to the deliver point. ↡ Advertisement
