From my understanding, it is a mechanical problem in one part of the gearbox.

VW has yet to resolve it.

OT a bit. the new Phaeton looks fantabulous..[laugh]

BMW E60 with ZF 6HP26 gearbox was noted to have this mechatronic issue too, although not sure whether it applies to other models or whether the issue has been resolved. If im not mistaken, there was a Jaguar with the same gearbox having the same issue too (car jerk forward when coming to a stop).

About the topping up engine oil 1L every 2 weeks issue, I do have this problem. But this is because the engine is leaking oil and needs an overhaul, thanks to the 25,000km oil change interval recommended by AD! Heard they now change to 15,000Km instead.

So the latest MK7 World Car of the Year 2013 still using the exact same problematic gear box stuff?

Really strange for a problematic car to win such an accolade.

Had sold my Jetta previously, after a year, before switching to a Thai Altis years back. Luckily, my previous Jetta did not give me any issues a year plus. I sold it, because had been hearing to many issues on it's gearbox. -_-

Gear box is a 'known' problem and seems to plague beyond Jetta model. Till today, if u want reliability, it is still J & K-car. However, if you got bigger budget, got for continental.

Coe dropping. He is unhappy to over pay for the car

my COE was 98K (maybe 96, cant quite rem) the last round when cat B came down so much, call the AD and found that the selling price for my GS actually went up by 50K.

Wat I find odd is that we were only at the first quarter of 2013 and they already decided that Golf is the COTY?? I tot COTY is usually towards end of the year??
