Kyrios Turbocharged April 14, 2011 Share April 14, 2011 Actually if you are fast enough to get infront (so long as not red light immediately) then I say go for it.... Then it becomes a reflection of the social problem - the rich vs poor, the have vs have nots..fast car makan B&b car...

Good-Carbuyer 1st Gear April 14, 2011 Share April 14, 2011 If you know a way "around" a queue that lets you cut it without jumpiing the queue is it ethical to use it? For example, driving CTE towards city, if traffic is at a standstill, can take AMK ave 3 exit, go straight at traffic lights and then rejoin the other end. Or maybe there is a way to "go around the block" cutting out 90% of the jam, and then rejoining later...is this ok? And I am talking real jams, not just traffic slowdown, and you are leaving the cue, and rejoining in front of where you would otherwise have been... is it ok? Avoiding/detouring traffic jams among safe hypermiling practices
Good-Carbuyer 1st Gear April 14, 2011 Share April 14, 2011 I use Road shoulder and rejoin the front of the road is this considered Queue Cutting ?? Considered to be illegal in accordance to the Highway Code, unless you are driving an Emergency Vehicle.
Good-Carbuyer 1st Gear April 14, 2011 Share April 14, 2011 yeah, but I'm not talking cases where you need skill or daring to let you rejoin - I am talking cases where you know of some loophole that lets you avoid the queue - kinda like the bus bays on the AYE towards city around Clementi area - ccan legally takke them and avoid queue - you just risk getting stuck behind bus. Or another one - coming back from JB. If JB customs is backed up, continue on over the viaduct, then u-turn back from the other side you "skip" the queue as you get a traffic light that lets you rejoin all the way at the front. Can check if your motor insurance cover still valid while you are in the bus-bay?

Good-Carbuyer 1st Gear April 14, 2011 Share April 14, 2011 You must be very sensitive to ask this kinda question. I want to get to Sengkang from Jurong for example. Take the PIE, jam.. CTE also jam.. I exit BKE, go by SLE, Mandai, bank into SLE, TPE then exit Sengkang. No jam at all. Considered queue cutting? NO! Smart? YES! So what you are doing, it smart. Please continue doing it to reduce the traffic conjestion in that area. You got the point. You are right. 100% agree.

Tigerwoods Turbocharged April 15, 2011 Share April 15, 2011 Nope... Is considered stupid bullying and illegal and I whack whack you big big Yes its illegal but why stupid bullying ? Actually its very rare that I do such things. Do you know that when there is heavy traffic on highways, the smoothest lane is the left lane.

Do you know that when there is heavy traffic on highways, the smoothest lane is the left lane. 1. Becuase bullying is always stupid 2. Because breaking the law to get such a small and relatively insignificant advantage shows the perpetrator up to be an immoral person with low standards - which is also be definition stupid and also selfish. And you can be sure that the sort of person that does this is also the sort of person that screams loudest about their que number being too high in HDB and all sorts of other "injustices"
Grix17 Clutched April 15, 2011 Share April 15, 2011 Do you know that when there is heavy traffic on highways, the smoothest lane is the left lane. It's common psychology for drivers to head to the extreme right. So more gaps open up in the extreme left. Reverse psychology works in driving!! I never drive in extreme right lane in very heavy traffic. ↡ Advertisement
