Supercharged

I dun do it...I just know that one of the AMK avenues can do - couldn't remember if 1, 3 or 5 so I just guessed :D

exit ave 5 and join back before ave 3.

another one, from CTE joining PIE (changi) if got stuck in left lane, no need to force yourself to the middle lane.

Can take the Kallang way exit and rejoin PIE. Some times faster. But make sure you don't end up go into the tunnel.

[lipsrsealed] should not share too many lubang...

for example..

TPE to punggol sengkang. At the traffic light, extreme right will split into 2 lane, most right must turn to punggol, and 2nd right either straight or right. While many are slowly queuing up behind and few who think their time are more precious then others, will go from outside, and cut in whenever there is any car going to the most right, and create a small pocket at the same time. if everyone can jump like that, then we behind queue up for??

Another 3 place which I feel most ridiculous. Keppel flyover exiting toward Vivo, KPE to BKE (woodland), and BKE to SLE. something infront of u might just seem like 20-30 cars. but true fact is, with all those cutting from outside, easily end up 80? 100????

I use Road shoulder and rejoin the front of the road is this considered Queue Cutting ??

As long as you break the traffic rules, it should be avoided in normal driving conditions.

These include road shoulder, chevron markings, double-white lines ..

I'm not a purist, but I think that this is just like cheating .. why can't everybody just follow the rules?

More accidents may happen because not all drivers anticipate such situations.

The only exception is when the road is really jammed up and there is no choice.

I'm not against queue cutting, but I think the worst (and most popular) queue to cut (legally) is the one between AMK Ave 3 and Ave 1 exits (CTE towards city). The reason why the stretch is so long is to allow smooth interchange of traffic left and right.

Yet, I often see even large buses and trucks cutting to the filter lane, and then bullying their way down at the chevron markings near the Ave 1 exit.

It's really unsafe for those who are filtering in the opposite direction.

not worth to it while in a real jam..unless u are talking abt a complete route detour..i tried before many times..depends on the cars giving way to u at the next entrance..even then at most u gain a "few cars" distance(assuming u note down those vehicles near u before u circumvent)..its not really going to make ur journey faster beyond seconds..it might work if in front is an actual accident and u are trying to avoid the accident..the best is still to slug it out

If you know a way "around" a queue that lets you cut it without jumpiing the queue is it ethical to use it?

For example, driving CTE towards city, if traffic is at a standstill, can take AMK ave 3 exit, go straight at traffic lights and then rejoin the other end.

Or maybe there is a way to "go around the block" cutting out 90% of the jam, and then rejoining later...is this ok?

And I am talking real jams, not just traffic slowdown, and you are leaving the cue, and rejoining in front of where you would otherwise have been...

is it ok?

dont c anything wrong with that.... nvr infringe any traffic law...

Buangkok Drive after KPE turning right towards Punggol another common area. TPE just before Jln Kayu exit also a lot will cut by travelling along road shoulder.

Say there are 2 lanes, one going to turn left and the other going straight. Somewhere along the 2 lane roads there is this traffic light which every motorist stops behind.

I only hate those who dont que up on the correct lane in order to make the left turn, preferring to use their engine capacity and rev loud loud in order to cut the first legitimate car in the queue. Usually the culprits are those big capacity cars such as sonata/merc cabs, or BeeMers or WRX. The bread and butter cars usually dont try this stunt because they know if the lead driver in the queue speds up or at least keep up with them they will be forced to miss this turn. But all in all it is not fair for the rest of the drivers who patiently waited in the correct lane. [shakehead]

You must be very sensitive to ask this kinda question.

I want to get to Sengkang from Jurong for example. Take the PIE, jam.. CTE also jam.. I exit BKE, go by SLE, Mandai, bank into SLE, TPE then exit Sengkang. No jam at all. Considered queue cutting? NO! Smart? YES!

So what you are doing, it smart. Please continue doing it to reduce the traffic conjestion in that area.

Actually if you are fast enough to get infront (so long as not red light immediately) then I say go for it....

As long as others' and your safety are not compromised and the rules are not broken, should be ok...... whether or not it annoys others, that's a different thing [:)]
