Using multi SIM on my iPad2. 3G network gives me 4-5mbps usually. Some locations get lesser, but never less than 1mbps so far.

My home connection is 15mbps only but my ipad2 on wifi gives me 11-12mbps if on the same floor.

Encounter something similar. My iPad 2 takes a long time to download an episode of drama serial. 20min portion needs about 30min of waiting. Any advice? Thanks

A way to find out is to install the speedtest.net apps over 3G to check your download and upload speed. Anything < 300kbps will not get smooth viewing.

I tested with a few Singtel 3G data cards all capped at 350kbps, while using wifi unleashed about 2Mbps. So probably Singtel artificially throttle its 3G data speed.

I can't even get any movie streaming apps on the ipad (let alone slow to load). I read that there such a thing called Netflix..... but I couldn't see it in the Apps store. I'm willing to pay for the subscription, but it is apparently not available. (I'm on ipad 1)

Can anyone confirm?

for movie streaming i would advice using high speed wifi at home, i am using fiber and yet the loading of some movie can be quite slow.

everything that your laptop is capable of, ipad2 can almost replace them.

if you are only refer to email, web, do some simple doc. then i agree. there are some stuff that ipads cant do. let alone the so call DVD, etc.

but come to think about it, most of the ppl only using laptop for these only.
