There are always happy and unhappy customers/vendors when the two IRs open.

Happy

Bring in more tourist to spend in Singapore

Create more jobs

Uphappy

Many companies are losing their staffs to the two IRs for offering better benefits.

Families break up because of 1 loser

If they really want to discourage locals from entering casino, they should impose a refundable deposit of $5k to 10k instead. With a $100 entry fee, hardcore gamblers with only $300 in their pocket will still go, pay $100 still hv $200 to gamble.

Their Idea of discouraging locals to enter casino has failed...

Look at how much Govt has collected from these "$100 per entry"...

If u pay $100 to go in...Wouldn't you want to "recoup" it back?

As a result, instead of preventing locals....This made more locals to eager to at least win back the $100...

-Ask any locals who visit the casinos regularly....They will give u this kind of reply

I like gambling. But not hard core.To me,$100 entry fees does make a difference to me.So far,I have only been two times only.

As for having the casinos here,I'm all for it.It does really create jobs for quite a number of locals.Looking at those valvet parkings to the hotel staffs,at least quite a number found a Job with the 2 IRs.

Before casino got junket, illegal casinos(operated by loansharks), home gambling dens, genting...are we naive to say casinos encourages gambling? I would say it's just another avenue to gamble....having casinos may just be better as loansharks are not there to entice ppl to borrow from them on the spot unlike in underground gambling dens

Also, we are able to spur the economy by bringing in more tourist dollars, create more jobs for the people, luring more investments to sg. Its just how we regulate it that's the main crux.

Sounds like a win-win situation to me, because I'm sure the casino is also huat-ing at the same time.

Those who turn and look at you, at least some will be called Ah-huat, thought you calling them. Those who run after you shout are Ah Huats who owe ah long $.

My mum and and few aunts also works there. They have been finding jobs until the IRs cum along. The piorities were given to locals.Right now, there are FWs coz not enough locals to fill up. A number of locals quit citing "shiong" or so called tiring and u can't gamble at the place u work even ur off days.

Supersonic

it dont pain me at all. Nobody force them with a gun to go there....

It's no different from saying I leave a gun and some bullets on the table.

Nobody ask them to pick it up and shoot someone.

So guns and bullets should also be freely available to buy at the local supermarts.

Noting can win the COE stake!!

Pure profit for the authorities.

And the joke is that everyone is happy to lose this depreciation every year.

One observation I noticed about this COE mentality is that almost everyone feels superior when they get their COE.

Somehow the system is fine-tuned until, the feeling of getting a COE is a great achievement, and usually comes with great satisfaction.

Very funny...like yesterday...my colleague got his...and was so proud to tell everyone...And he treated me to a nice dinner....and promised to bring me to MBS for a better meal when his car arrived. He claimed he gotten a great deal and SAVED a lot had he not acted quick in signing the car.

AD really know how to stroke car buyers ego!!

The biggest Caslno is the COE gamble!!

can't agree more, how sad indeed ! Sometimes I cannot help agreeing with your input, watching from afar, U are not 100% right but not entirely wrong either.

Cheers!
