Supercharged

Hi,

Just change 4 of these over last weekend in JB. Size 185/55 R15 86H (Extra Load)

I was original looking for Goodyear ones (NCT5, Duraplus, Excellence etc)

However, tyre shop highly recommend the XM2. They are more expensive than Goodyear ones.

Was given a brochure for it. (see attached) scan copy for your perusal.

On my 1st two hundred km on it and can oredi feel it offer less rolling resistance.

Cheers

How come the speed symbol is only a "H"?

don't you find the tyre roar with noise if you go to 100km/hr or 120km/hr?

Can someone bother to share > low rolling resistance means low traction in high speed>120km/hr???

Or it depends on the rubber composite such as silica for better traction.

Read from magz it also last longer by 20%. Does the rubber get harden????

i'm on the tyre for 4000km now.

rolling resistance, you can feel that the rolling resistance is really low.. have to be alert.

lasting - maybe, threadwear at 400...my last XM1 was only 320. so this have a higher wear indicator....

traction, damn good, avioded a rear end yesterday.

wet/aquaplanning, confident due to deep grooves for water dispersion.

well, at 110 per pc, quite ex but i will not save on tyres and brakes.

In my limited knowledge of buying Tyres, I'm taught to get tyre with speed symbol of V, W. The higher, the better.

Then why this XM2 is only a H?

H means u will hear loud noise when u go to high speed.

Any one can confirmed this??

Speed rating has nothing to do with noise. It's the maximum speed the tyres can take. Anyway, H doesn't mean it's lower. Check this:

Speed Rating Km/h

N 140

P 150

Q 160

R 170

S 180

T 190

U 200

H 210

V 240

Z 240+

W 270

Y 300

hi all..anyone know where is a cheap and good place to get the XM2s from in the East? need to change my rear 2 tyres for toyota vios - 175/65/R14. Priority is safety, but must also be quiet. Is XM2 a good choice? Or should I just go for Yokohama A.Drive AA01 (changed front two tyres to this more than a yr ago). Is the difference in noice or grip significant? Which is better? Thanks.

Ok thanks.

But isn't common sense to get higher speed rating, with same price and similiar specs?

First, need to consider if your ride can really go up till that speed limit and whether your driving will go up that limit or not. Higher MAY not mean better, it could mean some compromise at everyday lower speed. Something has to go in return for better performance at highest speed.

well, just change 4 donuts 195/60R15 for RM225/pc after trade-in my 2 years and after 48KM milleage Bridgestone...

impression is quite quiet but not fantastic, responsive during cornering, low rolling resistance (which give for better pick-up feel, maybe placebo effect).

when moving downhill, this thing really roll...good stuff, must try.

i think low rolling is the rolling characteristic and not the breaking capability...

from their report, it has better breaking distance compared to XM1 which was selling quite good in Sg.

so shld be safe to use...

however, the low rolling perform at the expense of my brake pad...i ended with pressing on the break more.

Made in THAI LAND!

Nothing to worry about; process is computerised; workers cannot play punk with the settings; direct QC by Michelin France.

You can check manufacture date on the side by looking at the 4 digit number like 3011; this means 30th week of Y2011.

I bought mine 2 weeks ago and is happy about it.

i'm not change in JB city area...

its way further in Msia...

Anyway the last time i check with city tyre at Pelangi, the price was RM285 for 195/60R15.

Maybe you can call them to ask and drive there to let them assess how much to trade in...

The tyre comes with 6 years warranty, in other word it is lifetime warranty under normal usage.
