[Called one of the guy already. I don't know who is who.

As friendly like before, he told me, they ceased their business on year 2005.

It was due to the sudden 100% increased of their rental, so they called it a day.

Ya, the one who chopped the chicken is doing biz in Bangkok, was told that supply parts for vehicle or something like that!

Thanks for their contact anyway!!!!

its run by 2 guys in their 30s right ? their stall used to be on 3rd floor and then move up to 5th floor

Its gone forever. They have closed their business some 3 years back. understand the guy who chops the chicken is now doing some business in bangkok. the server (the friendlier shorter fella) is also doing something else. Heard he is a relative of the original Swee Kee chicken rice

I also prefer this MU decorated store to the existing one. like their chicken gravy sauce.

sigh. i miss their chicken rice too

do you eat the other zi char stalls on 5th floor of Far East Plaza now ? a couple of them is not too bad.

There used to be another eatery in Far East which i liked very much, called Pittar Patter run by some folks in their 40s then. Not sure any old birds of Far East Plaza remembers this

First patronised them in 1984-5 when i was a young teen. Then in one day in 1997, was at an industrial park in Yishun and saw the same stall name and same folks ! They were then operating from a food stall in a industrial coffeeshop. They were already almost in their 60s but i could still recognise the uncle and aunties. For sure, this food stall is no longer around now

When I was in my U days, I used to patronized this Chicken rice stall in Far East Plaza 5th floor.

The one with all the MU posters all over the shop. And they serve kai lan with oyster sauce.

I went last week, this shop no longer there....anyone knows where they shift to?

They use to have full house of students!!

ITS GONE???????? OMG.... i went there since Lips 1st opened last time during my school days! so many memories...

i had the chicken rice last year still there... well anyways YET CON at purvis is great too... but seriously i would say best chicken rice in SG now would be Yishun central there... really got standard... line up pay sit and you get served...

This place they called it a school tuck shop........ after 2pm, you will only see students with school uniform conquering the shop...LOL

What a memory!

Oh ya, I think Ah Tiong is the one who serve, friendly chap!!! The other uncle don't talk much, but very friendly too.

Fragrance rice not too soft not too hard, and the Chilli is the most important.

Whereas the Chicken, I think everywhere is the same.

But this stall I am looking ...... the Sauce is extraordinary. People who ate there before will know what I said, don't know how to describe. The taste of their secret recipe "sauce" is just superb.

what are the criteria for a good chicken rice

Yes, love the sauce. Sometimes I will ask them for the sauce to be served in separate bowl instead of being over the chicken.

I like their soup too

Heard from my Far East hairdresser that they used to serve with a slice of ham too but they no longer do that from the time I ate it.

When they were at level 3, they shared that corner coffee shop with a fish ball noodle. Heard the noodle is pretty good too. Anyone tried ?
