funny reply! but ture!

OK. lets calculate profit margin

rental per month $8000

two workers pay $800 X 2

selling price $12 for two pratas with eggs

cost price :

flour - $0.10 purchased as ready made from the factory

2 eggs - $0.40

curry - $0.10

total cost price $0.60

let's say boss works for 12 hours per day

number of customers per day - 145 customers

( max 25 for 4 hours, min 10 for remaining 8 hours)

revenue per month = 180 X $12 x 30 = $64 800

cost per month = 180 X $0.60 x 30 = $3 240

net income = $64 800 - $8000 - $3 240 - $1600 = $51 960 !!!!!

SO WITH VERY EXPENSIVE RENTAL, TAKE HOME PAY IS $52K PER MONTH!!!!

LET'S BE PRATA MAN !!! THEN BE SUPER RICH !!!

and some more, very easy to be prata man.

ingredients don't need much preparation.

must buy from the factory.

hire some workers.

and every month, you pay rental of say $8000.

AND YOU EARN $52 000 !!!!

AND IN ONE YEAR, YOU ARE HALF A MILLION DOLLAR MAN!

AND IN TWO YEARS, A MILLIONAIRE MAN!

Most expensive prata in S'pore at Esplanade: $12 for 2

STOMPer Royal says he was charged $12 for two roti pratas with egg at the Esplanade's Makansutra. He feels this was just too much of a mark-up, even if it was during the F1.

The STOMPer wrote:

"Yesterday during the F1 race, I went to Makansutra at the Esplanade to have dinner.

"I know that prices are inflated during the F1 and that's quite normal, but the Indian store selling roti prata was really ridiculous.

"I went to the prata store and asked for two egg pratas. He told me then that they would cost $12.

"I was like, are you kidding? I then asked if it was a set meal with additional items?

"He said it was just the prata and curry and said one prata costs six bucks. I looked at him and told him I was not interested and cancelled my order.

"I don't mind paying extra since its the F1 and understand that prices would be inflated, but come on -- six bucks for a piece of dough with an egg?

"The guy just looked at me sheepishly and grinned. He probably thinks locals do not know the market rate of roti prata.

"Are they trying to make enough to retire during the F1?"

That's even worse than daylight robbery... Its like buying a car during this COE season..

I think too drastic increase.

How will CASE investigate since there is no receipt to proof?

CASE where got bother this kind of kacang puteh amount ? F1 is to make $$$ for the goverment and OBS ! This is the only way to tell the public...Look...this expensive F1 project is feasible as we are ALL making $$$$....from the organizers, to the tourism all the way down to the prata seller ! So kaopeh simi ? This is the state of affairs in this country....LPPL [furious]

Agree. Espanade & singapore flyer were only accessible to those with F1 passes. So i guess those stall owners were opened to target F1 fan & probably to price his food according to 'Market rate' set bybstalls within the track. Stomper just need to track back and eat outside of F1 track....priced as normal & more variety.
