Othello Supersonic August 12, 2013 Share August 12, 2013 I have an interesting question, how long on avaerage did you guys change razor blade. I normally 5-6 months. Thsoe fusion balde bloody expensive to change too often. I gave up on all these razors and switched to ol' skool Double Edged razor years ago. Very clean shave + blades are CHEAP!! ↡ Advertisement

Thsoe fusion balde bloody expensive to change too often. I use the Schick Hydro series. Quite a bit cheaper than their top range, also I get less nicks. Bought the hydro 3 initially coz I prefer the way the handle looks, but i also bought (and still buy) the hydro 5 cartridges because I get even less nicks with these. I change cartridges every 3-4 weeks depending on when I get the first nick.

Myxilplix Turbocharged August 12, 2013 Share August 12, 2013 I change blades once it's gets dull, maybe every 4 weeks or so then I recycle the blade to my "body shaver" and put a new one on the "face shaver". Gone back to basic Gillette Mach 3, works best for me. Those 4-5 blade types tend to get clogged up too easily. Yes i'm a hairy bugger.

Kangadrool Supersonic August 13, 2013 Share August 13, 2013 Used to use those expensive types. Now switched to cheap disposable 2-blade Shick. Far better than expensive types. 1 bag of 5 only $2~$5 depending where u buy can last for more than half a year.
Donut Supercharged August 13, 2013 Share August 13, 2013 I buy from Mustafa, those cheap cheap one. disposable. Just use and throw. How long the blade last depends on how hairy you are. For me, i think i also use for 5-6 months before changing. Me not so hairy on face (i don't shave everyday), but VERY hairy somewhere else.

Kelloggs 1st Gear August 14, 2013 Share August 14, 2013 Used Gillette for about 20 years, last model used was Mach 3. Early this year, tried those hotel issued Schick disposable in Japan, and found it better than the Mach 3. Swap over to Hydro 3 and been a happy user since. By the way, Gillette seems to be market leader everywhere except Japan., where Schick rules. I shave everyday. Mach 3 blades lasted me 2 weeks, while Hydro3 life is 4 weeks. And it's cheaper than the Mach too ! And I don't cut cuts using Hydro, while the Mach3 blade is flimsy so I get slight cuts once a while
Kiadaw 6th Gear August 14, 2013 Share August 14, 2013 (edited) I used gillette all my life. The good thing is it is available worldwide, so I can get repalcement blade (not that I do often, or matter really) when I am travelling. But its ridcuculous every few years, they come out with model with more blades, & call it innovation. Edited August 14, 2013 by Kiadaw

If travel, just use disposable type as they are lighter + some are as good, if not better than those atas ones.
